The voting for Old School BMX ~ Bike of the Year ~ closed Dec. 31st. The competition was FIERCE. In the end… a very fitting winner took the top honors.
The 2006, Old School BMX Bike of the Year is Tim Cook's 1976 DG-1 !!!
This bike is historically significant as the frame once belonged to BMX legend Jeff Bottema, and was his race bike in the 1970's. The attention to detail on this bike was second to none. A masterful example of expert restoration… the bike embodies state of the art trickery and race readiness as it manifested in 1976. Spectacular… and a worthy winner of the most prestigious Old School BMX honor on the internet.
OS-BMX.COM will donate the cash prize to a charity of Tim's choice. Congratulations once again to Tim and his 1976 DG-1!!!
