Group Five is me, Andrew Loughnan. I make sparse scuffy abstract-hip-hop instrumental stuff (music). Rather proud of the fact I was once compared to a faeces-flinging monkey (splat). I come from Wellington where I've done all my gigging in the last four years; since moved to Auckland, and haven't gigged here at all - should rectify this eventually[rectified August 2008]. But I gots me two EPs or mini-albums (30 mins apiece) available: In Camera (2006) and Distant Stations (2007). You can download them (or individual tracks) from Last FM.
I gots some tunes up here on MySpace. Check out the real Group Five website for actual news...
Also the Angry Rabbit site, and its inevitable MySpace page...
Oh yeah, the name Group Five comes from Dian Fossey's book Gorillas in the Mist, after a family group of mountain gorillas (the numbers indicate the order in which Fossey originally identified each family). I was looking for a name and I thought it sounded good at the time, and not at all like a consulting agency, security firm or engineering practice. Such is life. These days I'm just as interested in gibbons and siamangs - not as smart but more musical.
