Hi, my name is Sean and I am the American Artist known as Gruvenheimer, which is a nickname given to me by my sister. My music often has contrapuntal bass lines - which is just a fancy way of saying two different bass lines running at the same time - and shifting time signatures. Because of this some of my songs are often associated with Big Beat music, which is fine with me, since I am a huge fan of Big Beat music and spent a good chunk of the 90's in clubs partying to Big Beat.
Since my work also spans several other electronic genre like electro, house, hard dance, ambient, fusion and rock, an since I began my career as a Dj and an editor, I would describe my music as Dj-based progressive music. Progressive meaning experimental and pushing the boundaries of EDM, particularly in speed, and also in fusing together different genre to create new sounds. I am a member of the Free Music Movement so my music can always be downloaded for free.
I was also a founding member of Uberlabel, Rockmore Records, and Boomrock Demolicious; now I use the indie label GRAMPA! which I put together last year. GRAMPA! is an acronym for Gruvenheimer Recordings and Musical Productions Awesome! Currently I am in the process of putting together a new recording studio in Port Gamble, Washington which is the longest running lumber mill town in America. Now it is a historic site with these great old victorian houses that have incredible acoustics.
