Dusty's Interests
|
| General | My interests include, ghost hunting, paranormal research, photographing cemeteries and headstones, travel (weekend and day trips are the best), reading, writing, watching movies, crafts, paganism, getting dressed up in my best gothic clothes and hanging with my husband, my friends, my son, my dogs, collecting funerary and cememtery items, collecting living dead dolls and teddy scares, and whatever else my mood draws me to at any given moment.
I enjoy photographing old headstones and have posted several here on my photos page. I change them from time to time, so stop back and have a look when you can. Please, do not steal my images. All of them have embedded watermarks and if I find them on someone else's web site, or anywhere else for that matter, I will take legal action against the thief! not trying to be mean, just protecting my hard work!
My publishing company also publishes an annual Cemetery Art Calendar, Cemetery Wildlife Calendar and a Paranormal Activity Calendar. You can visit my publishing houses web site at: http://hometown.aol.com/ravenslochph/RLMain.html Or look for these and our other items on Ebay under seller: DBPRG. Thanks! A portion of all proceeds benefits our historic cemetery preservation & restoration projects! | | Music | Midnight Syndicate is number ONE! Rob Zombie, System of a Down, Evanescence, Enigma, Lorenna McKennit, Tool, Pink Floyd, Meatloaf, Caramina Burana. I like songs for the wording and how it makes me feel. Not for the artist that made it. Music should make you feel emotions, not just make you tap your foot. | | Movies | I like psychological thrillers and horror films the most. But, they just don't make them like they used to...lol.
I have many favorites. From the original Nosferatu to Silence of the Lambs. From Hell to The Lost Boys. Bram Stockers Dracula (excpet for Keanu Reeves and Winnona Ryder, Gary Oldman's preformance was phenomenal!). Nightmare Before Christmas, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Arsenic and Old Lace, anything directed by Wes Craven or Alfred Hitchcock.
Any movie with Jonny Depp, Gary Oldman, Kevin Sapcey, Anthony Hopkins or Sean Connery I will watch. As well as any movie with Jodi Foster or Drew Barrymore in them.
Butterfly Effect was awesome! What the @..$@ do we know was great!
I also like some other genres, Braeheart, Dangerous Beauty, Ever After, LOTR trilogy, the list goes on and on.
I have over 200 movies on DVD and over 400 on VHS. | | Television | I don't really watch TV, unless I'm watching a movie. However, I do watch a couple of weekly shows. Ghost Hunter on Sci-Fi channel and Most Haunted on the Travel Channel. | | Books | Most of the books I read are for furthering my education. Books on how to learn about, use equipment and study paranormal phenomenom top the list.
Also, the books that I have written, have had written about me or have been written with me in them, which include; Ghost Hunters of America by Dan Asfar, Ghost Stories of Florida by Dan Asfar, Encylopedia of Haunted Places by Jeff Balanger, Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places by Brad Stieger, Phantom Felines and Other Ghostly Animals by Gerina Dunwich, Ghost Hunters of the South by Alan Brown, Ghosts from Coast to Coast by Kaylomi...and several other. | | Heroes | My son is my hero. He has taught me more about life than any other person I have ever known.
My new friend Frank! He's awesome!
My husband Steve who taught me that even the worst people can change if given time and a chance.
Benjamin Franklin was pretty cool too!
And my husband Steve. Who has learned from his life and implemented change. Not an easy thing for most humans to do. I am proud of you my love! |

About me:
My new book titled, Haunted Daytona Beach: A Ghostly Tour of the World's Most Famous Beach will be out on October 8, 2007! That's right folks, Daytona Beach isn't just about NASCAR, bikers, babes, beer and the waves...we have our fair share of ghostly inhabitants! My new book is available from The History Press, I will carry it on Ebay under seller DBPRG, and of course Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million and Walden Books will be carrying it along with many other fine retailers. It's 128 pages, including over 40 photos, for only $19.99! (ISBN 987-1-59629-341-0)I all ready have two local book signings scheduled for Oct. 13 from 1-3 PM at The Book Store and More on Nova Rd. in Ormond Beach, and Oct. 20 from 2-4 PM at Walden Books in the Volusia Mall. I will also be bringing copies with me to Ghostock5 in Savannah, GA from Oct. 25-28, and to OmegaCon in Birgmingham, AL from March 14-16, 2008.
***Our episode for the series, "A Haunting", on The Discovery Channel premiered on September 28 at 9:00 PM EST. The episode was titled, "A Haunting in Florida". For those of you that watched this show, THANKS!***
For those of you wondering if the crib incident, yes, it really DID happen. It was not made up to "get on TV". I've been on TV before and will be again. (Including another episode for the same series and a TV show for the Telemundo Network.)
(For those of you who want to see the footage...nope! I have my reasons for not making this footage public and that should suffice. If it doesn't, too bad. No one is going to threaten, guilt or otherwise get me to change my mind about my decision (Like several people have all ready tried to do.). There are several reasons for not making it public including the disturbing nature of the footage, the fact that Emily can be seen and that even the partents have not seen the footage. Again, if you don't agree with my decision or reasons for the decision...it wasn't your case, it isn't your footage and I have better/clearer footage than that, that I can and do show publicly. So, don't bother emailing me, leaving comments here or contact me in any other way about showing you that piece of footage. Thank you.)
I am a happily married 44 year old Scorpio living in the Daytona Beach, Florida area.
I have authored a book entitled, "Dread & the Dead Filled the Dunnam House", which is available now from my publisher, (http://www.publishamerica.com/bookstore - do a search for the title listed above), which is now available from myself on EBay under seller DBPRG, PublishAmerica.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com, and many other fine retailers. (ISBN 1-4137-9837-3) This book is about a real haunting that took place in central Florida, that I lead the research team on investigating the case. What began as a Friday night cocktail party joke haunting, soon turned into a very dangerous haunting where our team actually video taped the young couples infant daughter being attacked in her crib by one of the entities residing in the home.
I am also the founder and president of The Daytona Beach Paranormal Research Group, Inc.. The president and co-founder of The International Association of Cemetery Preservationists, Inc.. The owner and cheif operator of Haunts of the World's Most Famous Beach Ghost Tours. Founder and cheif editor of Raven's Loch Publishing House. And the owner and founder of Sacred Raven Magickal Supply company.
I have authored over 40 chap books which are available on Ebay under seller DBPRG, or from my publishing house's web site which is located at: http://hometown.aol.com/ravenslochph/RLMain.html.
I founded The Daytona Beach Paranormal Research Group, Inc. in 1998 and have been doing paranormal investigation in the southeast ever since. Our group are proud members of The American Ghost Society, The Atlantic Paranoraml Society (TAPS), Ghost Hunters Society, and several others. You can visit the research groups web site at: http://www.dbprginc.org.
I founded the Haunts of the World's Most Famous Beach Ghost Tours in 2000 to help differ some of the costs of our research groups equipment, and now use the funds raised by doing the tours to fund our cemetery preservation & restoration groups efforts. You can visit our tour web site at: http://www.hauntsofdaytona.com.
I co-founded The International Association of Cemetery Preservationists, Inc. in 2004 with my great friend Kourtnie while on a trip to one of our favorite haunts, Savannah, Georgia. The group currently is restoring and preserving three Daytona Beach area cemeteries and has branches in 4 other counties, one other country, with a total of 47 members and 13 cemeteries being preserved. You can visit our cemetery preservation groups web site at: http://hometown.aol.com/iacpcontact/IntroPageIACP.html

Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet people with similar intrests as mine. Authors, ghost enthusiasts, photographers, taphophiles, gothic minded people, movie goers, dog people (not that I don't like cats, but I'm just not a cat person), classic rock, new age, gothic and even classical music.
I have very varried and ecclectic tastes that include being a practicing pagan, being in the bdsm community, watching horror movies, writing gothic stories and poetry, writing books on paganism and the paranormal.
I'd also like to meet people to be friends with that also share similar interests.
