SYBARITE was formed in rochelle by bruce schwitters and jim hauser in 1973 and bruce recorded 'being a toad', guitarist bruce met poet greg stomberg at crest foods in 1977 and a band was formed with jim hauser now named syberite. greg's songs mixed with bruce's guitar riffs and songs were recorded, their greatest masterpeice turned out to be the 'art of time'. after breaking up in mid 1978 greg joined the country folk band g. w. smith and family, making their first recording in 1979 with g.w., greg, and donald g. stomberg, greg's dad, they continued recording thru the 80's and 90's with guest musicians like bruce currier, carol clock and valerie marie,. in 1980 greg joined the cover band 'cook, stomberg, and hultquist' and recorded lots of cover rock and roll songs. in 1984 bruce schwitters and greg stomberg reunited syberite with bruce currier and recorded a jam session in franklin grove, also zeke and surf, the great underground newspaper was brought back to life by greg in oregon, in 1984 greg and mike beach recorded a synthesizer jam of poetry, in the early 1990's greg started his underground beatle songs collection of hometapers recording their version of different beatle songs. in mid 1990 greg joined valerie marie in the band 'space ocean' and recorded on a few compilation tapes. in 1992 dr demento played gregs song 'let's have a scary christmas' on hi radio show christmas special. g.w. smith died in 2001 and that ended the country band. 2003 had greg writing his first rock opera based on the book by jim hauser 'adam g-214, 2073 a.d.'. in 2005 greg and dan susnara recorded their first live jam in doniphan, mo.
