Pete Ak...Provides vocals and entertainment, be prepared for a blistering harmonica solo whenever a string gets broken (quite frequent!), rasping sax and vivid interpretation of songs.
Rasher. Bass player. Plays with imagination, drive and a potent mix of subtlety, polish and power.
Gaz. Drummist. If there's anything he can't do, let me know, he learnt everything from Peart and Bonham then added his own bits on top.
Will. Van Halen eat your heart out. Simply the fastest, most exact guitarist on the circuit as well as the loudest and longest tuner upperer! He just has to be heard AND watched to be believed.
Influences
Besides ourselves?
80's rock maybe, 90's metal perhaps, naughties only the good stuff!
GTFBi play synapse shredding, highly evolved rock-based everything.
It's mostly loud, fast, punchy and rawky in the extreme. Right now, at the top end of 2008, we're primarily a good time, live band. It seems our 'Tribute to Welsh Rock' is going to be very well received, especially in Rugby Clubs.
Plans for studio work to update and re-enliven our recorded material are in place for the Spring.
If it's bookings you want please do so early, we're a very busy band; in 2006 and 2007 we played over 120 gigs!
So, who are we?
Pete Ak... lead vocal, sax & harmonica;
Rasher, bass and background holler;
Will, lead guitar and supplementary shouting;
Gaz, who hits things.
If you're ever in Newport, S.Wales for longer than a week there's no excuse... we're resident in the Cotton Club, every Thursday starting around 11.00ish. You can also check out The Potter's, cos we play there at least once a month. For you big city slickers of Cardiff unable or unwilling to move out of the city try the Miller's Tavern, Riverside, where we're also regulars.
This weekend GTFBi headline TWO festivals... on Friday it's the opening night of the well respected Raglan Music Festival, tickets running out folks!!! On Saturday it's the Y Rohirrin Motor Cycle Club - a beautiful Gower Peninsula festival site - come along and have a great time.
