Gospel Truth Magazine’s first issue was released in April 1997. Almost 10 years later, Gospel Truth Magazine has become the largest nationally distributed faith-based publication with more than 300,000 readers. Gospel Truth was the vision of publisher and founder, Kerry Douglas, who was searching for a way to gain national attention for his record label, Worldwide Gospel Records, and its roster of Gospel recordingartists. Then the tides changed. Gospel music fans began to learn about Gospel Truth Magazine and the free CD sampler and demanded copies for their own reading and listening enjoyment. By 1999, Gospel Truth Magazine became a consumer oriented publication while still continuing to serve the needs of the Gospel music industry and as in the beginning – every issue still includes at least one FREE full length CD. This feature continues to attract Gospel music fans of all ages, gender and musical tastes. Today, Gospel Truth Magazine can be found at most major retail outlets including Wal-Mart, Kroger’s, Barnes and Nobles, Albertson’s, Border Books, Family Christian, Lifeway or wherever Gospel music can be purchased. Every issue is in full color and is packed with interviews with leading national and independent Gospel recording artists, words of encouragement from today’s most prominent Pastors and Ministers, and lifestyle stories ranging from health and beauty tips to food, travel, shopping, and more. Gospel Truth Magazine also serves as the official publication for the Gospel music industry’s most prestigious events such as The Stellar Awards, Dr. Bobby Jones International Gospel Industry Retreat, The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and the Gospel Music Workshop of America. As the official print sponsor for each of these events, more than 100,000 participants receive a FREE copy of Gospel Truth Magazine each year.
