Guajiro (Pronounced "War Hero" in Gringo...), are a Hialeah Florida based rock band, comprised of exilios from Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Long Beach. Each member comes to the table with a dream of recreating the music they left behind in their former projects, such as Slapshot, Speak 714, and Friction Wheel. A combination of Classic Rock, '77 English punk, and 80's Latin Rock, Guajiro hopes to bring back the energy and soul that has been lost to major label executive influence and heavy handed pro-tool production. Guajiro's aspirations are to create creditable albums that will stand the test of time and build a loyal fan base that are looking for honest, straight to the point, no bullshit music. They do songs in English, Spanish and in most cases "Espanglish", a combo of both.

I agree with the Miami Herald article about the mentioning of Cuban-Americans and the ‘dinner-table rift’ within the family structure. The older Cuban generation holds a grudge toward the democratic party, but the republican policy toward Cuba has been ineffective for so many decades. So the only other option is to pass legislation that implements the complete opposite of the Cuban embargo; Obama’s policy toward Cuba is supported by logical Cuban-Americans.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein.
The Bush policy toward Cuba has been futile, counter-productive, it incorporated a horrible business sense, and delusional.
$12 billion a month in Iraq without any objective is another example of the Bush-McCain thinking. 2008 needs to be a paradigm shift for our thinking as Americans. Obama all the way.

Guys, I went to the show at Revolution (Fort Lauderdale) last night. I have to admit, I had heard about you guys and checked you out only because I saw that you were opening for Rancid. But, I fell in love with your music right away when I first saw you in youtube and I ordered your CD’s from amazon the next day.
Last night, for me, even though I’ve been a Rancid fan for 12 years, you guys absolutely stole the show! Your new single “Ole Futbol Latino Americano” kicks some major a**, and your cover of “Ya No Sos Igual” (Originally by 2 Minutos) was the highlight of the night. It’s great to see local bands rocking en Español.
