In a genre full of clichés, there are few bands that have attempted to craft a sound as unique as Guard Your Steps. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Guard Your Steps fuses elements of progressive metal and hardcore accented by the death metal tinged voice of vocalist Jeff Moore to establish a sound few have ventured after. Often compared to bands such as Between the Buried and Me, The Human Abstract, and The Faceless, the band has already risen to a level of musical credibility that would take most bands years to reach.
Formed in the fall of 2007, Guard Your Steps were brought together at Belmont University by an interest in writing skillfully crafted heavy music. Setting out to create intensely guitar-driven metalcore, guitarist Pete Kachnycz recruited the likes of vocalist Jeff Moore and bassist Sam Buchanan, and the three immediately began writing. However, it would not be until the addition of guitarist Chris Young and drummer Casey Brown that the band began to develop a unique and intriguing sound. With a new direction and the wind at their backs, Guard Your Steps began to take shape as a more progressive metalcore act, disposing of the verse-chorus-breakdown mentality practiced by their peers, and embracing a more technical and unconventional style of writing.
The band quickly began to attract a following in their home state of Tennessee with a complex, virtuosic, and punishing arsenal of compositions complemented by a high-energy live show. Amassing an impressive resume of shows and contacts, the band is now ready to take their music to the next level.
Armed with a new EP and more songs on the way, Guard Your Steps is sure to be a reckoning force in progressive metal in the years to come. From blistering guitar solos, to epic melodic sections, to heavy grooves, the band satisfies every need of the modern metal fan.

Hey i have a question and its IMPORANT. Ok so according to this lady that is staying at MY house, we took her family in because they had NO WHERE to go is trying to tell me CHRISTIAN METAL is not anointed by God? how can that be? for one thing the lyrics are the same as any worship song. This is just so stupid. What should i say to her? I sorta yelled at her and said that i was listening to christian music but shes so... i wont say the word. what do you guys think about this situation?
