In life, we all have goals. Goals are what drive us, what push us forward, what give our life purpose and meaning.
My main goal is to appear and perform my original poem, "Half Hearted," on The Ellen Degeneres Show. I've been working on this goal for 2 years, and I can't give up. If you would like to help, please visit www.RendaWriter.com and sign my online petition that I created to help me get the attention of the show's producers and get me on the show.
Most big goals are reached by setting smaller goals along the way. So my goal is to go from 574 signatures to 650 signatures by May 1st. I can do that easily with your support. Thanks for your support.
Once there, stay there, and start clicking the “refresh” button on your computer. Some of you have the ability to set your computers to do this automatically, and you know who you are. Others will have to do it manually. If you have no idea what the refresh button is, please ASK someone! If you can, keep doing this for 10-15 minutes, or as long as possible.

If you are a GL fan, or a soap fan in general and want to show support for the show and the genre, PLEASE do this.
Also, please circulate this message via e-mail or private messaging to everyone you think will take part in the protest. Please do not post it on message boards. Some boards have strict rules against “campaigns” and we don’t want to violate any board policies. Also, enlist the support of your family, friends, co-workers, etc., anyone willing to help.
If we want to keep GL on the air somewhere, we need to show our support for the show by strength in numbers and working as a group. This protest is just the first step.
Meanwhile, keep e-mailing, calling, signing petitions and sending snail mail.
It's unbelievable! They can't do it! Do the GL fans start some petition? To make CBS know we don't want to give up. I don't know for the rest of the world, but in my country the audience is not enough because of the bad treatment they gave to GL. Every day it's a struggle: you must understand if and when exactly they want to broadcast the episode. They damage GL and then say it isn't followed enough.
Seriously... WTF!!!! Okay. Guiding Light wasn't always a TV show. Maybe this is GL starting the next trend in soap opera! I just absolutely positively cannot believe the show I grew up with - that have been watching since 1981....went to high school (so to speak) with Phillip, Beth, Rick and Mindy. Went to prom with them. Found out MY real father wasn't mine, just about the time Phillip found out the truth. Lillian dealt with Bradley's abuse as my mother was dealing with MY stepfather's abuse. It was such a help for me at that age and I've stayed true to the show ever since then. Really, to think of it being gone is like a close friend of mine dying. Terrible. :-(
Just couldn't believe it when I heard about Guiding Light being cancelled. I've watched the show for 35 years!! I just hope that if it HAS to end that it ends happy with all the conflicts resolved.........Carol
I've read the press releases and heard a couple news stories on the radio, and it is stated that P&G is going to try to find ways to keep GL on the air, either on cable or online. I think that, in addition to petitioning CBS, we need to express our support to P&G so they know we will follow GL if they are able to place it somewhere else. They should have better luck getting a contract with another network if they can show they have a very large and committed following as expressed by our emails and letters. I believe that, at a later date, we need to politely address the writing situation, which still needs drastic improvement, but the first step is to get Guiding Light safely settled at another network without any delay if possible.
I don't know if CBS will allow this post to stay up, so please re-post this on any other sites you know and email it to anyone who may be interested in helping spread the word. CBS may have lost faith in the Light, but P&G has not, and they need our support.

i need a friend who can answer all my gl ?s like when was reva married to alan and beth to coop and what happen to alan micheal i lost my tv for a few monthes. ive only been watching since coop and lizzies "wedding" but lost a few monthes inbetween then and now
