Q music review
"Heart stopping thrash, mind blowing lyrics and a smacking thump to go with, Guildofiends offer some amazing original talent that cannot go ignored. Not to be mistaken for ‘just another metal band’ they have a fresh approach and continue to evolve the ever growing beast that is Thrash Metal."

GUILDOFFIENDS - Six Sick Songs
Guildofiends are a new band from Northside Brisbane, and Six Sick Songs is their debut recording. I had never even heard of this group or seen them live, or heard what they sounded like (despite them being locals) so when I recieved this CD in the mail I didn't really know what I was going to get. Well, this one certainly hit me like a tonne of bricks - this band plays something totally different to anything I've heard in the Brisbane scene! Guildoffiends play a very oddball style of technical, experimental metal - twisting drums, loud guitars ranging from melodic Iron Maiden-style harmonies to just strange and chaotic riff assaults, topped with the maniacal shouted vocals from frontman Brad Gibson. This is certainly something new, exciting and original from the Brisbane scene - and it's obvious that the boys from Guildoffiends worked hard into producing their own sound before making the move to release this debut recording, which is something a lot of local bands make the mistake of not doing! A wow of a first release from a local band (complete with excellent production by Adam Merker) - it will either blow you away, or scare you away...
