I am a Brisbane-based songwriter, musician and music hobbyist. I spent the early 1990’s living in Perth playing original music in several indie/alternative guitar bands (Two Faces of Culture, As Is); and the mid-late nineties in a sixties garage/surf/pop band (The Hoovers) playing a mix of original songs and cult sixties covers.
After moving to Sydney in the late 1990’s I developed an interest in writing and recording my own songs and soundscapes. I am attempting to blend the old and the new in these recordings, mixing analog and digital instruments and tools. I have taken sounds from the analog domain (guitar, bass, organ etc.) and messed with them digitally to create new sounds which I have then mixed with the original source tracks, creating layers of often long sustained sounds. The drums and samples were created and processed using drum machines and PC software, which was also used for the recording and mixing of the songs.
