I'm Nic, there not a lot to it. I play da bass. Piano, Trumpet and Guitar to, but sssshhhh. Probably would like to jam sometime. You should check out my bandmix profile and hear some of my clips its; http://www.bandmix.com/tasteofbass ahhh about me eh? I'm in way to many bands, they include: Fifth Way, Drake,Voice Box,The Katie Todd Band and 3 ensembles at Columbia College. I'm not really religious, at all, I think that one should worship whatever makes them feel good, not what they think is going to save them. I guess for that matter I don't believe in god persay either, as much as like a universal life force energy thing. But yeah it's kind of hard to explain. Music wise, I dig pretty much everything but my top favs are:
Victor Wooten, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Kings X, Steely Dan, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Peter Tosh, Israel Vibration, Tower of Power & Return To Forever.
I mean like it's really hard to define what makes up a person in words, it more like feeling, you know?

For More About Me
FUCK ALL THAT BULLSHIT SURVEY STUFF!! It's amazing that i even think that anybody will read this shit, but the following IS ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS!
"It is perfectly true, as the philosophers say, that life must be understood backwards. But they forget the other proposition, that it must be lived forwards. And if one thinks over that proposition it becomes more and more evident that life can never be understood in time simply because at no particular moment can one find the necessary resting place from which to understand it - backwards."
Kierkegaard,Journals, 1843
"Like, everybody does it the way they do it. Death only matters to the person that's dying. The rest of us are going to live without that voice. For those of us for whom she was a person, we'll have to do without the person"
-Jerry Garcia
Natives widely believe that the essence of a person, song, object resides within, not on the surface not i outward appearances...insisting that reality isn't in them but in the lawn that govern bodies; or in the sense that Picasso, to show a total being , takes u right inside. From this comes the belief that although the world consists of bodies, each contains within itself an essence, power, vital energy, which under certain conditions is give out, illuminating changing whatever it touches. When such energy meets forces radiating from another being, something new may be created. Similarly, forces from other beings may penetrate one, enter one, change one. One may "drink in" another. Be possessed by another."
-Edmund Carpenter They Became What They Beheld
"I don't understand, how come...you're gone, man. I don't understand why half the world is still cryin' ... when the other half of the world is still cryin', too, man. I can't get it either. I mean you want a cat for 365 days .... You ain't got him for 365 days. You got him for one day. Well, I tell you that one day, man, had better be your life. Because you can say ... oh, man, you can cry about the other 364. But you're gonna lose that one day, man, and that's all you got. You gotta call that love, man. That's what it is, man. If you got it today, you don't want it tomorrow, man. Cause you don't need it. Cause, as a matter of fact tomorrow never happens, man. It's all the same fuckin' day."
-Janis Joplin
Let the reader consider what he would give...to stay the clound in its fading, the leaf in its trembling, and the shadown in their changing; to bid the fitful foam be fixed upon the river, and the ripples be everlasting upon the lake; and then to bear away with him no darkness or feeble sun-stain, but a counterfeit which should seem no counterfeit - the true and perfect image of life indeed. Or rather, let him consider that it would be in effect nothing less than the capacity of transporting himself at any moment into any scene - a gift as great as can be possessed by disebodied spirit; and suppose, also, this necromancy embracing not only the present but the past, and enabling us seemingly to enter into the bodily presence of men long since gathered to the dust; to behold them in act as they lived...to seem them in the gesture and expression of an instant, and stayed on the eve of some great deed, in the immortality of burning purpose.
John Ruskin Frondes Agrestes
All my life I just wanted to be a beatnik. Meet all the heavies, get stoned, get laid, have a good time. That's all I ever wanted. Except I knew I had a good voice and I could always get a couple of beers off of it. All of a sudden someone threw me in this rock 'n' roll band. They threw these musicians at me, man, and the sound was coming from behind. The bass was charging me. And I decided then and there that that was it. I never wanted to do anything else. It was better than it had been with any man, you know. Maybe that's the trouble.
-Janis Joplin
Definitely, and it's getting more spiritual. Pretty soon I believe people will have to rely on music to get some kind of peace of mind, or satisfaction, or direction, actually. More so than politics, the big ego scene. You know it's an art of words... Meaning nothing. Therefore you will have to get an earthier substance, like music or the arts.
-Jimi Hendrix
See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or said for in factories. Ask no guarantees, ask for no security, there was never such an animal. And if there were, it would be related to the great sloth which hangs upside down in a tree all day"
-Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
"He saw but did not see what the eye saw"
-Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
"I don't give a fuck if you boo, as long as you boo in key..."
-Jimi Hendrix
"The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be. Try to make people moral, and you lay the groundwork for vice."
-Lao-tzu, Tao Te Ching
"Music is you own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art."
-Charlie Parker
"... I think, fundamentally, music is something inherently people love and need and relate to, and a lot of what's out right now feels like McDonalds. It's quick-fix. You kind of have a stomachache afterwords."
-Trent Reznor
"Now that right there is a genuine whore"
-Jon Mazzei
"There are just some things that don't seem very fair in the world, like this fucking hypocrisy of organized religion. I just don't understand how people can blindly believe a bunch of the shit they're fed, to believe it so that they don't think too hard about other issues. 'Be a good boy and you'll go to heaven.' If it works for you, fine, but it doesn't work for me and that pisses me off, because I kind of wish it did."
-Trent Reznor
"I hope to refine music, study it, try to find some area that I can unlock. I don't quite know how to explain it but it's there. These can't be the only notes in the world, there's got to be other notes some place, in some dimension, between the cracks on the piano keys."
-Marvin Gaye
"An integral part of any relationship is knowing that you could be killed in your sleep at any time."
-Trent Reznor
"I think I think too much. That's why I drink!"
-Janis Joplin
"Me like meself better when I just sing, more than trying to sing. Because you're singing something fast, then you have to depend on your voice to sing it. If you sing something real, then you sing it on your own. If I just sing a love song now, I depend upon a sweet voice to sing it. Singing something real, you don't sing it because you really see it and you mean it, so you don't have no sweet way to sing it. You could almost talk it."
-Bob Marley
"True artists don't just hold up mirrors, they paint canvasses."
-Christopher Farley
"The artist's life cannot be otherwise than full of conflicts for two forces are at war within him - on the one hand the common human longing for happiness, satisfaction and security in life, and on the other a ruthless passion for creation which may go so far as to override every personal desire... there are hardly any exceptions to the rule that a person must pay dearly for the divine gift of the creative fire."
-Carl Jung
"As a listener, your relationship with a band is like a love affair. You hear tha5t first single on the radio and it's like eyes meeting across the room. You buy the single, or the album, and it's a first date. You play the album several times, and go to the store to purchase more recordings by the same group. You're going steady now, and you're spending more time together. Finally, it's time to get serious. It's time for commitment. You decide to go all the way. You see the band in concert. It's dark and it's sweaty. You're a bit nervous, because maybe it's your first time. Things are awkward at first, and there is shouting and moaning and limbs everywhere. Everything builds to a climax. When it's over, you're exhausted but satisfied. You want to be with this band for the rest of your life."
-Christopher Farley
"Is God dead in pop music? No, He's where He's always been - offstage, working in Production"
-Christopher Farley
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn."
-Joss Whedon
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."
-TS Eliot
"Now man that alto man had IT --- he held once he found---I've never seen a guy who could hold so long." I wanted to know what "It" meant. "Ah well" laughed Neal "now you're asking me im-pon-de-rables - -ahem! Here's a guy and everybody's there, right? Up to him to put down what's on everybody's mind. He starts the first chorus, he lines up his ideas, people yeah, yeah but get it, and then he rises to his fat and has to blow equal to it. All of a sudden somehwere in the middle of the chorus he GETS IT --everybody looks up and knows; they listen; he picks it up and carries. Time stops. He's filling empty space with substance of our lives. He has to blow across bridges and come back and do it with such infinite feeling for the tune of the moment that everybody know it's not the tune that counts but IT---"
-Neal Cassidy from "On The Road"

RIP to all the above people
We finally did it! We have put together a kick-ass MUSIC VIDEO for the song "Sold my Soul!" Don't want to talk to much about it but we will be showing it on a 12ft viewing screen on Thursday May 14 @ 9pm and performing (2) Sets.
This event will be filmed by DetroitMusic.TV and we are featured in the Real Detroit and Metro-Times this week (released on May 13).
We hope to see you there - it'll be worth it! Peace.
Hey! So steph called me and was like "Hey nic and a few of his friends and been and mike and soo forth with the people are goin to bubble tea to celebrate my birthday".... so coincidence, are you going there?

Hey! Love the new default, last time which was actually the first time Tess and I were ever over at your house, we had LOTS of fun... lol. What have you been up to?
Yeah! Im working at U of M in a office, I was going to go to Sea World in Fl, but it was really expensive and to top it off I dont want to leave town for that long since I have too many close friends.
Once you can drive on your own, its the best independence that I have experienced soo far. For instance, if your sick of your parents you just hop in the car, and go for a drive.
Thats sooo tight! I wish horse-back riding would count for something other than P.E. I get that, sometimes too muh family time with parentals for some can be irritating. Do you drive yet? Lifes AMAZING right now, everything seems to work well and right, and im just sponging it all in.
k so this weekend looks good, we jsut need to decide on a time sometime in the afternoon on saturday, i think if we just stick to like house and one movie, we wont have to spend as much, and if we get em online like we did over here, its hella cheaper. call me if anything changes.
k so it looks like were on for this weekend nic, i just gotta finalize teh meeting times, maybe ill see if my mom can jsut grab you on her way home from work to save my dad a trip or soemthing, ill let you know, ill call you tomorow or soemthing to make sure of the time...which i should find out soon.
