"Guitars are a duo from Brooklyn this is their debut EP ands its really great, they call their music minimal psychedelic country which is fitting, but it should be said that the songs are really catchy as well."

“On the debut EP, Faster, the Brooklyn band brilliantly incorporates... non-traditional
forms of music-making into each track to create a sound that is all its own.
It’s definitely hard to fit the she/him duo of Shanna Perez-Hill and Kenric McDowell into
a strict musical category.”
Hi. We are the band Guitars from Brooklyn.
We began by writing chants in our living room. These chants soon
evolved into acoustic songs. Somehow we got a gig at a club and
had to put together a real set. We played our first show the
night of the winter solstice in 2007 at Lit Lounge in Manhattan.
After that we played a few gallery shows. At the second of those
we performed a meat ceremony chant/song and were subsequently
attacked by a drunk person — Shanna landed in the hospital with
a broken nose and a scar on her third eye (not a joke). So we
decided to stay out of galleries for awhile and stick to the
safer realm of rock venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan. We have
recorded an EP called Faster which was released on Overlap.org.
We’ve been out on two U.S. tours and we visited the jungle in
Peru where Madrecita told us to get married and record a record.
In 2009 we moved to the mountains of Cornwallville/Greenville,
NY and did just that. Our first full length is called Soundtrack
To Your Future Nostalgia. We hope you enjoy listening to it. We
want to kill you musically with love.

Everybody is psyched for your show on Saturday, we billed it as a psychedelic showcase" so get ready to be trippy, let me know if you still need a place to crash. Thanks Robert The Sunshine Factory
the stuff on this site is our "old"stuff - will keep you posted when we have the sonic evidence from the temple all mixed and overdubbed. Miss that place already!
