Playing music on stage, 7-string guitar, bass, drums, a tasty brew, hitting the clubs, & having a great time with friends.
Music
Metal being foremost, but I'm into all sorts of music (classic rock, blues, swing band, jazz, rockabilly), but I tend to lean towards the most heavy, technical music I can find. Basically, if it's unique & completely insane, you can find me there!
Current faves include but not limited to...Opeth, Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Between The Buried And Me, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Dream Theater, Pantera (RIP DIMEBAG DARRELL), Mike Patton, Fantomas, Dimmu Borgir, Unearth, Van Halen, Ron Jarzombek, Spastic Ink, Queensrhyche, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, RUSH, Nevermore, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Psyopus, Reverend Horton Heat, Glass Casket, Fear Factory, Sleep Terror, Allan Holdsworth, Zimmer's Hole, Candlemass, Coroner, Carcass, Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, Devin Townsend, Ephel Duath, Faith No More, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, King Diamond, Led Zeppelin, Machine Head, Mattias IA Eklundh, Paul Gilbert, Mr. Bungle, Necrophagist, Duran Duran, The Power Station, Primus, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Sikth, Skid Row, S.O.D., Spiral Architect, Stryper, Tesla, Tool, Tony Bennett, White Lion, Wrathchild America, Yes & YOB. Honestly, there's just too much to name, but I love so much of everything.

Seven, Silence of the Lambs, American Beauty, Swimming With Sharks, The Shawshank Redemption, ANY Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez-directed flick, Blazing Saddles, Airplane, Young Frankenstein, Kung-Pow: Enter The Fist, ANY Pixar flick. Gotta love MEL BROOKS flicks!

Books
Anything guitar, music or world history related.
Heroes
First and foremost...My parents, brother & my wife. Family is extremely important to me. As far as musicians go...MIKE PATTON, John Petrucci, Dimebag Darrell (RIP 1966-2004), Mike Portnoy, Mikael Akerfeldt, Zakk Wylde, Fredrik Thordendal, Allan Holdsworth, Geddy Lee, Ron Jarzombek, Rev. Horton Heat, Devin Townsend, Scott Ian, Vito Bratta & the almighty Eddie Van Halen.
About me: I LIVE FOR MUSIC! Wait. Let's start over. Introductions are in order! Hello! My name is Shannon.
Born in Texas (75-87), moved to Kentucky (87-93), moved BACK to Texas (93-96), then finally headed to Seattle in 96 & I've been here ever since. Yes, I love it here!
As for work...
Day job: I work in the aircraft industry as a shipping manager.
Night Job: Making $$$ playing music!
I'm a multi-instrumentalist (7 & 8 string Guitars, 5 & 6 string Basses, Drums, Alto & Baritone Sax, Piano, & tons of other shit). I'm very dedicated to my craft.
In addition, I dig...LIVE MUSIC of all types (a live show is better than no show at all), drinking a cold brew, whitewater rafting, hiking in the woods, smoking (cigarettes), Different cultures (1940-50s, Southern, B-movies, Hot Rod, Metal) pin-up girls, world history, tattoos, leather, Ebay, the internet, melding vintage with contemporary, meeting smart people who have goals & are dedicated to achieving them.
There's nothing better than being onstage! Honestly, the adrenaline is impossible to describe. I play in numerous bands because I just love to play music. Give my an instrument, ANY instrument & it's ON! My current bands are...
O.S.D.O. - a kickass high energy party rock/metal cover band playing current chart toppers, guilty pleasure tunes, hard rockers, dance, you name it! You do not wanna miss this!
JAR OF FLIES - Seattle's Premiere ALICE IN CHAINS Tribute Band. You have to see it & hear it to believe it! NO ONE does it like we do it! FACT!
OUTSHINED - Seattle's Premiere SOUNDGARDEN Tribute Band. It's being developed at this time, but you can see a sneak of what's to come if you check out the next few JAR OF FLIES' shows. Watch for us in Summer 2009.
THE SMOKING LOUNGE - another great variety rock cover band spanning the 60s-present! It's a little bit of ever'THANG! Jonny & I perform this as an acoustic duo show. With a couple of guitars & basses, a bunch of pedals, some drums & a loop sampler, watch 2 guys sound like an 8 piece band! Don't believe me, see it for yourself.
Here's a video of JAR OF FLIES performing "Would?" on Sept 22, 2008. I'm on the main speakers in front of the stage for the whole song. It was the show closer, so I was pretty amped after a 3 hour show that including the "Dirt" album played in its entirety. Keep watching! You'll see me rockin' out! Jar of Flies performing "Would?"
In addition to all that, I'm also a moderator on the best guitar forums on the planet...
Never forget DIMEBAG DARRELL ABBOTT 1966-2004. A guitar legend with a heart as big as Texas. Rest In Peace, my brother.
