Coloured by the swedish folk music traditions, and with a deep fascination for melody and sound in general I add my own touch to the music. As a factory of swing with the foundation in my fiddling style, I am a rather appreciated dance musician, as well as a pond of weird ideas when making music in other contexts.
I frequently get questions about my instrument, so I recognize the need of a brief introduction here... It's a lute, baroque period build technique, designed by Hållbus Totte Mattson (Hedningarna) and Sven Åberg with help from the luthier Gunnar Gustavsson. There are ten strings grouped in pairs, that is five courses. I'm putting high tension to it, calculating each string between 37-42N, on a 600mm mensur. Nice using a pick, not-so-nice for figuetas. Mine is tuned, from low to high: A1-A, D-d, A-a, e-e1, a-a1. This tuning resembles the tuning of a fiddle with high base and a turbo gear on top. Since it is a lute, it is strung with nylon strings. I know, traditionally gut strings were used, but guts is not for rock, I like my fishing wire!
I was introduced to the instrument by Totte when I studied for him at the Conservatory of Music in Falun, and fell in love with it immediately. So nice and round... Avocado...... Mmmm....................
Well. Now I live in Stockholm, keeping bands and projects emerging and evolving. I am on my last year at the Royal College of Music, with a great number of inspiring, overall stunningly amazing and braintwisting teachers and study colleges surrounding me.
