WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL GUN RUNNERS VRC WEBSITE.
Gun Runners VRC is a military veterans riding club. We are a motorcycle riding club open to military veterans and invited civilians who support veterans causes.
We are not a Harley exclusive club.
We are not a law enforcement club.
When not riding, our club comprises of working class members who are involved in successful bands, fly airplanes, play sports and drink beer. We share the common background of service to the country we ride through and the interest of working on bikes in an individual way. Our members ride these bikes to places of interest, no matter the distance. We promote veterans awareness and veterans' causes in the process.
For more information about meeting up with like-minded vets who like to ride, feel free to contact us. We are located in Massachusetts.
Gun Runners VRC is in no way affiliated with any club in the state of Georgia.
HISTORY -
Gun Runners VRC was founded by five original members, a Marine Corps Scout Sniper, Air Force Ground Radio Operator, former Marine Corps Force Recconnaissance Gulf War Combat Veteran, Marine Corps Scout Swimmer and a civilian motorcycle entusiast with a history of building and repairing bikes.
The idea started in 2005, shortly after an eight day ride from Massachusetts to South Dakota and back, to form a club of like minded motorcyclist who enjoy not only riding locally but travel as well.
Our goal is to take one long distance ride and hold one charity event annually. The time between these events will be spent riding locally, planning the next long distance ride, organizing the next benefit, having some beers and talking shit.
PATCHES -
Gun Runners VRC is a front patch military veterns motorcycle riding club.
Gun Runners VRC's members wear an American flag with a patch directly below it GUN RUNNERS VRC. You will also find a POW-MIA patch on the left arm and each members service patch on the right side front (non vets wear a state flag) of each members blue jacket. Our combat veterans have a side patch with the word COMBAT to honor their service in the war theater
A picture of the club's patch can be found in the pictures on this site.
MEMBERSHIP -
Members must provide a copy of their DD214 showing honorable discharge from their branch of military service. The club does not keep a copy of members DD214's, They need only show their honorable discharge paperwork along with a motorcycle endorsed drivers license.
The type of motorcycle ridden is up the member. As long as you can ride long distance at highway speed.
While wearing a Gun Runners VRC patch members conduct themselves in a professional manner, knowing that each members indivual actions reflect upon the club as a whole.
At this time there is no probationary trial period, as we are currently a riding club. Prospective new members are invited to join by current members of the club provided none of the other existing members object.
Civilians. Veteran status is not a sole requirement for club membership. Character is of equal importance as well. Those who support veteran's causes and are invited by a military veteran member of the club are elilgable for membership, provided their is no objection by any existing veteran members within the club. Acceptance of non veterans is at the club's discretion.
With regard to leadership status, only a military veteran may hold office. The only exception is when the office is not desired by a veteran and placing a non veteran into office has unanimous approval by all veteran members of the club.
At this time Gun Runners VRC is a male only club.
