music, music and more music,
pretty jazz singers,
walkin' the dog,
nude olympics,
skiing but not on a slope,
criticism as long as it's positive,
cheap motels,
expensive wine
Music
everything/anything; jazz, blues, soul, funk, pop, folk, country, world, classical, it don't matter as long as it has soul (I do have a weakness for girlie vocals, wonder why???) - I am interested in exploring ALL the boundaries of Swing, whatever that may mean...
Movies
Spinal Tap, Withnail and I, Gigi, Some Like It Hot, Amelie, Damsel In Distress, The Big Lebowski (actually pretty much anything by the Coen Brothers), most Pierce Brosnan movies, anything starring Scarlett Johannsen
Television
sport mostly
Books
thrillers, comedy, romantic fiction, would prefer to write my own but I've only got as far as album notes (maybe lyrics count as romantic fiction as they seem to have nothing in common with my own life)
About me: record producer,
musical director,
band leader,
guitarist,
songwriter,
publisher,
working with one of the hottest new properties on the jazz scene, the one and only Victoria Hart!
Who I'd like to meet: Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Eva Cassidy, Bessie Smith, Billie Holliday, Dinah Washington, Marilyn Monroe, just want to hear them live again
Thanks for the quick reply Geoffrey. I don't have my own myspace site, not enough interesting things to put on it, but Simon does allow me to have the password to this one so I can make some contribution, like adding the music, he is too busy, we hope to have some video on soon. They certainly are a class band and I am proud to be a part of it.
I would have loved to have come along to Ronnie Scotts to see Victoria but sadly I am away that weekend. I was actually there to see Marti Pellow but really enjoyed all the other performances, Curtis Stigers was brilliant and that guy Peter Grant also blew me away.
Take care and hope to see you some time. All the best to Victoria.
Hi Geoffrey, I recently saw Victoria Hart on the Ronnie Scott's day at Woburn Abbey and I thought she was amazing, very mature voice, I couldn't believe she is only 18. The very best to her, I am sure she has a great future. Laureen (PA to Blue Bishops)
ha ha, I hope so! Personally I am so fed up with the music on the charts..especially with hip-hop and R&B. I find it's become so bland and with no character at all. I'd rather listen to the music from the 80's or earlier then :-):-) xx Val
Hi, Geoffrey, thanks so much for accepting the request. I like your work and admire you for your career. Good luck for your projects with Victoria, thank god there's some interesting artists who walk off the mainstream :-) x Val
