The synthesizer of the middle ages!!!
... with more positive energy than the souls of 1,000 dead vikings roaming the countryside to feast on the hearts of children!??
My name is Jane Ruckert, and I am a South Australian muso focussing mainly on European folk music. I am mainly a solo performer, however recently I have started playing for a American Tribal Style bellydance trio called Saffron. Through Saffron I met an awesome drummer called Morgan Taubert.
Since Fleurieu Folk Festival, 2008 (Willunga, South Australia), I have started performing with Danny Spooner, and will be releasing a CD with some of our joint tracks in mid May.
When I am in Australia I enjoy attending the Irish session at the Dan O..Connell, and adding a little spice to it!!!
I have become known for my use of non-mainstream instruments and my performances aim to be not only enjoyable and stimulating but educational as well.
My first instrument is hurdy gurdy closely followed by two scandanavian folk instruments, nyckelharpa and hardanger fiddle, and voice.
My first CD, "The Organ Grinder", featuring mainly my own compositions, is now available from my website www.gurdygirl.com
My second CD, "With Friends" featuring Danny Spooner, Paddy Montgomery, Jeri Foreman and other wonderful musicians is also available from my website. Check them out!!
I am currently enrolled in the European Nyckelharpa Training course, held at Burg Fursteneck. This is an amazing experience for a young South Australian!
To book me for your event or function contact my management on 0402318183 or if you are outside Australia 61 402318183. I might even bring some friends!
Hello!!! It's been awhile - sorry there hasn't been in any Australian shows for many months but we've been busy in Europe with a bunch of touring and we're now recording our new album in Berlin (scheduled for release in March).
But to make up for it, here's a big (and silly) Merry Christmas from us (and from some hippos too) - this is what happens when you let some hippos loose with your guitar fuzz pedals and analogue synths :

Some bold new artistic direction? Nah, Just us being silly!!! We did this track for our label's "Black Snow - the completely different Xmas compilation". (and of course, visit our youtube.com/DandelionWineBand for a high quality version)
Wishing you a very silly Silly Season and we'll see you back in Australia sometime in 2010!

In the magicalities of a could, Between the probabilities of a would, Beyond the trivialities of a should, In these ungraspable mysticalities There lies a secret a passage… To this extraordinary wood.
But for you, it unfolds easily and true And the only thing you have to do Is press play, and you’ll have a view.
