1997 and a talk between 5 cups of coffee... yeah, we started as a five guys piece, but soon got rid of the one that was the best musician of us all, he was out of tune with our feelings of becoming great artists, he just played dull guitar solos.
and none of us could play shit, so we started from scratch, writing poetry and noising those words to their real senses. Roger lied and said he could play the drums, Trindade was a compulsive dreamer mixing guitars with words, Ivo was learning to play acoustic guitar so he was put on the bass and Miguel Carrapiço sang some Smith's songs while we all skipped a lot of Physics' classes.
maybe we never got to play well and we never got to play live and just lasted 2 years; maybe we just followed separate ways because that was the way things had to be; but we wrote some twenty or thirty songs, and some poems more. and today we still miss those wacked rehearsals, and we thought we were fucking our lives with the best thing possible: making music!
"IF FRIENDS ARE STONES" demoCD review in BLITZ nº 1011, 10-03-2004
"... funny, among all this, is that there are excellent songs here, sounding like The Cure, Echo & the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, A Certain Ratio, Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, and the remain acts of late 70s and part the eighties, in the British islands. Maybe - or certainly! - they appeared before the right time for the electroclash revival and now's the time that they should be playing concerts."
