About me: Our friend Gus Ramos, loved by all who know him, was injured in a scooter accident on Saturday, March 22, 2008. He sustained significant head trauma and multiple broken bones. He is presently in critical but stable condition. This page is the place to find updates on his condition. It is also the place to find out what you can do to help. Benefits and other events will be announced here. It's also a place to post comments and talk about Gus. Money is being raised to help offset the costs to Gus' family. Checks to the The Gus Ramos Fund may be sent to the P.O. Box above Gus' picture.

Hey, does Gus read this myspace page? If not, can someone update and let us know how he is doing. I moved out of state in May and was just thinking about him. Thanks!
Hello everyone! We went to see Gus yesterday and all I can say is, well, Gus is Back! He really blew me away. I couldn't stump him on anything, in fact, he set me straight on a thing or two that my brain has sort distorted over the years. I'd be like "Gus, you remember when...." and he was like, "Yeah I remember that, but it really happened like this...". And everytime he was right. He may have some short-term glitches, but hell, I don't remember what I was doing a week ago, do you? Once he gets his vision to start coming around he'll be just fine. We were coming back from dinner last nite and the very beginning guitar part of "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was playing on the radio and Gus goes "I'd like to dedicate this song to my left eye." It was 30 seconds into the song before any of the rest of us realized what song it was. The boy's still sharp. The very next song was "Can't You See" by the Marshall Tucker Band and the flute part hadn't even finished and Gus had created his own lyrics as they pertained to him. He misses everyone and he misses Athens, so go see him if you can!
Gus sang for us the entire theme song to the Facts of Life last night. I wonder if that's his default song. He also had a duet with Jason on James Browns' Sex machine. He thinks they should play music together, and he wants to be the singer. He also 'hopes' that he can play the guitar.
I'm one of the "original six" and my family and I are praying for you buddy. Get yourself better and Shaggy and I are gonna come have some beers with you. and I'll cook ya' some curry to boot!
schneider, was it the looney toons theme? or 3 is the magic number? those are the two songs i always associate with gus for some reason. mostly the second one, though.
Gus, I love you and miss you. This whole thing is the hardest thing I've ever faced. Please get well soon brother. The house is too quiet with out you.
Yippie for Gus and his badassness that brought him thru his surgeries. I just remembered another "Gusism" I'd like to share with y'all. Several years ago, Gus had the idea for the production of an historical drama, entitled, Christopher Columbus Gets Jacked by Vikings. I'm pretty sure he has already cast Ryan Sikes for the role of Columbus, but anyone with a Viking helmet is encouraged to audition for a spot as a Viking. Inquire with Gus when he gets better.
I just want to say to everyone that I am so happy Gus has so many wonderful friends to look after him. He definately has a huge family that supports him!
