Eclectic fusion of dub, electronica, vocals, gamelan and general weirdness-Guest musicians including legendary Steve Hillage ( System7/ Gong) and more... ...... ...... ......> Gus has been active as a musician/ producer and DJ since the heady days of punk/ new wave movement of Melbourne in the late 70's. He was the keyboardist in many bands- Beargarden with Sam Sejavka, Max Q with Michael Hutchence, Third Eye with Ollie Olsen, The Models and prior to this The Ears, the band upon which the film 'Dogs in Space ' was based (now re-released on DVD) Towards the end of the 80's he became much more involved with studio work and production, Ollie and he producing Troy Davies' Ecco Homo' with Bono and Edge from U2 and Todd Terry The 90's saw shifts to New York and Paris before settling in London and now, finally Bali. Gus has collaborated with /remixed African Jazz/Soul legend Manu Dibango, Nina Hagen, Jamiroquai, producer Youth -for who he was his in-house engineer at Butterfly studios and many more. The 90's also saw an involvement with the trance scene, in particular Flying Rhino records-there was also extensive travel performing at festivals globally: Samothraki- Greece/Solstice Fuji Rock, Arkadia, Planetary Nations- Japan/ Earthcore, Submerge - Australia, as well as Zambia, Morrocco, Mexico, Thailand, Chile, Croatia, Bolivia, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Finland etc. Over 60 tracks were released under his own name as well as BUS, Slinky Wizard, Stoop and Fidjet (with James Munro), Turban Bloc and Zen Lemonade (with his wife Cozi AKA DJ Supercozi) appearing on Flying Rhino, Dragonfly, Blue Room, TIP, Iboga, Spiraltrax, Transient, Atomic and more ( alas, many of these labels succumbing to the ravages of the eternally changing music machine are no longer with us) The 21st century saw a relocation to the isle of the gods- Bali where he has been steadfastly concentrating on many ideas. On the dance side there have been projects with Adam Freeland,, System 7, a BUS album and retrospectives of his pioneering trance work. An ambient album 'Aquana' has been released as well as the 2nd Zen Lemonade album 'Babylondon'. There have also been numerous tracks for chill-out/ lounge compilations everywhere. Gus is currently working with japanese saxophonist Chika Asamoto on a project best-descibed as abstract post-modern jazz and a new ambient album is ready for release ' Between the Silence'. He is still performing and Djing all over the globe. ........ ...... ........ ...... ........ ...... ........ ...... ...... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
