'The Guthlaxtones are one of the slickest soul acts around' (Leicester Mercury)
'We were all both astonished and amazed at how good this band were. Their set was a pleasure to listen to and they the whole ensemble gave it an enthusiastic and vibrant delivery. The Guthlaxtones are a great asset to the Leicester live music scene' (Arts in Leicestershire Review)
The Guthlaxtones are a dynamic 14-piece Soul Band with a powerful sound and exciting performers. They mainly play a mix of Soul and classic Motown. The band was formed in mid-2006 and has gone from strength to strength ever since with a steady supply of gigs and universal acclaim from their audiences. The Guthlaxtones have also done many functions, weddings, proms and other private events, music festivals and charity events. Several newspapers and ITV television have done features on the band.
The Guthlaxtones headlined at Belvoir Castle in autumn last year in front of an audience of over four thousand people. They played at the Glastonbudget music festival with a great response in 2008 (the largest festival for cover bands in Europe) and returned to headline the Oxjam stage on the opening night in 2009, again filling the venue and going down a storm with the audience. At their second annual charity Soul Night, The Guthlaxtones became one of only two bands to ever sell out the prestigious Musician venue in advance.

Be a banker. NEVER! Lol. Playing more music than I did at Gutho. Magic Flute Opera, Grease the Musical, Sinfonia Orchestra and a couple of bands. It's brilliant up here. Opportunities seem endless! So glad to hear SN2 was a success. You deserve it. Class band you've got there! Going on tour this year? x
