First race back after surgery some 3 months ago proved one thing, they didn't remove my memory or my racing abilties! I did remember to stage with the front wheels on the first time run and had an .023 light, my worst light (green) of the night. Next pass I went .008 on the tree and the car was running the Crew-Chief Pro 6 predicted numbers all night long! My only bad light of the night came in the "Run for the Money" when I went -.019 red and the only thing I can attribute that to was fresh track prep before that round as 60' time picked up .021 from the previous rounds. Won the first rounds with a double break out running 10.399 on my 10.41 dial with an .022 light. Second round I put a .006 light on competitor, chased him down, watched him "dump" and so I "dumped" also and let him take the stripe by .0044! I ran a 10.41 on my 10.39 dial dropping about 8 mph. Crew-Chief Pro has a feature that projects the run had I not dumped and it said I would have run a 10.396, dead-on my number. That's what you pay for getting old!
Guess I will be making my first "post-operation" race on September 8 at Firebird as daughter Jami has made other committements she is unable to change. Todd Estal will be my "crew-chief" for that race I reckon!
