Hopefully me, most of the time. I try to adapt to the song though.
I'm a bass player in Portland, Oregon. It rains. I play bass.
I already have a career but see no reason why my avocation can't be on par with that in a professional sense. I approach music from the perspective of the art and business aspects having near equal value. When the best of both come together, everyone benefits.
As a bass player, I try to focus on groove, time and taste. I love songs first and foremost so my goal is to enhance the inherent quality of the tune. Obviously, I'm in awe of virtuosity and am constantly striving to improve my chops. There have been some great chops presented in popular music over the years and I think we need more of that. Helloooo! Paul McCartney?
Quoting Napoleon Info
I play in a band called Quoting Napoleon. We write songs drawing from numerous genres but maintain a cohesive sound that I guess I'd describe as "acoustic rock".

Im thinkin that, the group that closes the hubard hop fest should be paid no less than 5000$, have hot lezbo hookers at their disposal, and all the beer food and hard "A" they can drink (free of course). And if that wasnt all,...people to load all of our gear thats just me though........hehe
