Me. And my many drum kits. And my multitude of snares and cymbals. And loops & samples, too. I also have a Pro Tools 7 rig for tracking drums in my studio for whoever needs great sounding live drums, but might not have the extra $800/day it takes to hire a good studio to capture them.
Influences
In no particular order whatsoever, and by no means a complete list: John Bonham, Chick Webb, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd, Dave Garabaldi, Keith Carlock, ?uestlove, Zigaboo, Chris McHugh, Steve Jordan, Russ Miller, Jonathan Joseph, Marotta (both of 'em), Abe Jr., JD Blair, Joey Kramer, John Blackwell, Kenny Aronoff, [dare I say it] Tommy Lee, Joel Rosenblatt, and the dude from Switchfoot (Chad Butler).
Sounds Like
Whatever you want it to. "Just tell me what you're lookin for!"
As a drummer/programmer, my overall philosophy about drums is that the notes you play really don't matter. It's the space between them that makes people feel the groove. Whether it's a huge washy rock beat, a tight funk groove or a light jazz ride pattern--playing what the music needs (and stopping there) is where it's at. Notes don't matter. Chops? Who cares! Find the pocket and play some music.
I'm a "space player".
See I could never teach you how to play drums or program like that because we cheat. Its called beat detection and a whole lot of help from the computer! Ha
Joel will do anything to get attention. Poping collars included. I'm Kidding.

bro, that "craziness" track? I can find the original file. I think I dumped it. I just have the MP3 of it. So that means I gotta write something else that you'll wanna play on. HAHA!!! Give me a day or two and I'll come up with something. :)
