Gwen's Interests
|
| General | white-water rafting, kayaking, belly-dancing, making jewelry and things that glitter, stones, horses, RVing with Rod (my hubby) and two small fluffy yapper-dogs. | | Movies | Action flicks, old or new. Sifi, old or new.
| | Television | Lost, all the Star Treks (because they have great future vision, social commentary, and action, all in one place) Navy CSI (because of the cool characters), The Unit (for the action and the behind-the-scenes of the armed forces stuff) Boston Legal (cool characters) Both the StarGate shows (but the original lost a lot when Jack became a general), the History channel, the Discovery Channel, and the dog/wolf/lion and other big cat shows on Animal Planet.
Anything urban fantasy, dark fantasy, thrillers, SiFi, and any kick-hiney hero (male or female).
| | Books | Almost everything fiction! | | Heroes | Mom and Dad, natch.
Tiger Woods (hey -- he overcame racial barriers with grace and a great smile).
My fav sushi chef.
Any soldier who ever fought for his country with honor.
People of passion -- writers, artists, teachers, soldiers, mechanics, sculptors, surgeons, mothers, fathers. The list goes on. But they have to do it with their whole heart.
Rod, who loves me with his whole heart. Isn't that cool?

About me:
I was born in Louisiana -- the *let's party* state of the nation, the state that surrendered to the British so no nasty war would stop Mardi Gras. I was brought up all over the South by good Southern parents who never took us to Mardi Gras.
Mama taught me to sew, embroider, (don't get bored, it gets better) cook, and look for talents that might be buried deep inside. (Mama is the spiritual one, can you tell?)
Dad taught me to fish for catfish, bream, and bass, shoot guns, ride minibikes, work on boat motors, water-ski, research, multiply, and a few more handy skills. Along the way, I learned how to ride horses, write a good tale, dance the *shag* (not the UK meaning, but a Carolina dance that made its way into the world through Myrtle Beach).
I love white-water rafting, am learing to belly dance and white-water kayak, adore dark chocolate, reading, writing, and eating good food -- especially sushi and seafood cooked the Cajun and Creole way.
But enough about me. Have you read my books????
I write under two names right now -- Faith Hunter (if you like fantasy novels) and Gwen Hunter (if you like thrillers and mysteries). All this makes me professionally schizoid.

Who I'd like to meet:
I've met Kim Harrison and the man in leather. Met Charlain Harris. And Michael Connelly, Stuart Woods, and a few other cool people, including Stephen King and Harlan Coben. I want to meet every other writer I read and admire. You got any idea how long that list is????
The others I want to meet have passed on to bigger and better things .... The founder of Hersheys. Mary Magdalene, Lewis and Clark, the guy who built the Panama Canal, Jesus and the 11 leftover disciples. The wife of Pilate. And the guy who started Luchesse boots. They are *OMG* boots!
