Who am I?? Gymshoes is one person. I'm the band. All the music here is digital and loop-based. For more music check out my Gymshoes site. There you'll find a lot more music, album art, wallpaper, my regular blog, Amp'd Up, and a lot of other stuff like why I'm "Gymshoes". ;-). My band is Undead Monkey, and you can become a Friend of the Undead on myspace.
So, what am I doing here?? This site is a way of raising my profile online so more people will hear my music. Most songs and info here are also on my website---though new songs may pop up in the music player before they're released! I also post Bulletins letting myspace Friends know what's happening and when there's something new out.

I don't know how I'm influenced by the bands I love or even who all my influences are. I don't hear specific influences in my pop-rock oriented music; either my influences have combined in a unique and unrecognizable way or I'm influenced by sources I scarcely recall---or both. With the electronica, I'm sometimes making music of a type I listen to only occasionally. Brain Eno, Bill Laswell, moby have all played a part in my musical direction.
