It was from the ashes of a doomed hard rock project that GZERO was born. After pounding out the perfect power chords uber proficiently for a couple years, the future founding members of GZERO did not find the sense of musical fulfillment and satisfaction they were struggling to find. They realized and accepted that Rock is truly dead and that it must be
destroyed once and for all. They further realized that not only is rock a dead horse but music itself has become cacophonous, uninteresting and banal.
Anu (Voice/Guitar), Frank-@ (Drums) and Palma (Bass) began their new musical journey with a determination to move beyond the boundaries of several musical genres simultaneously and combine their talents and musical interests into something bigger than themselves. This is the core essence of GZERO. Once the foundation was laid, the further evolution continued with Ico, whose 7-string crunch symphony provides devastating impact to the beautiful melodies and utterly unique sonic textures of the GZERO experience. While experimenting in the studio, they discovered a magical chemistry working with Dj-T and it was evident that he too was destined to be in the G-crew. The members of GZERO were attracted to each other like individual metal gears attracted to a single magnetic force, somehow pulling them into alignment, pulling them together to create something new, something unique.
In Jan 2005, GZERO released an EP, "INDAHOUSE" which received rave reviews and fantastic responses in clubs and venues all over Italy. The excellent response to INDAHOUSE attracted the attention of Anonymous Skateboards to include the bands video of Boom, Shake the Room! to be part of their European promotion campaign and also resulted in multiple compilation placements in Europe. Having refined their material and stage show to a point of manic perfection GZERO has arrived as a truly unique, original group that delivers an unforgettable experience both live and in the studio. GZERO is the Cirque de Sole' of popular music, mixing modern metal, rap, jazz, urban beats, R&B, hiphop and much more in a way that is uniquely G being both sonically mesmerizing and visual startling. GZERO takes you on a musical journey of multiple dimensions.
No GZERO show is the same, the band routinely has special guests both live and on their recordings. From ethereal female vocals, to crass poetry from a beat poet, to the sound of frogs and rain to
a Tibetan Monk channeling the cosmos, the G ride is nothing you've seen or heard before.
In early, 2006 GZERO sign a worldwide deal with world reknown label, Reality Entertainmentand entered the studio to record their debut full-length album Feel-It. International interest resulted in a co-operation with Alkemist Fanatix Management and Reality Entertainment.
The album will be also released by RB Records in Japan.
Songs such as "Murphy's Law", "Lets Get It On", "Without Breath" and "Reflection" represent a diverse variety of songs and moods on their epic, genre sprawling debut album.

Sono sempre stato un grandissimo fan dei primi due album dei Limp Bizkit e vedermi arrivare, nel 2007 e con gusti musicali molto più ampi e diversi, questo album dei G-Zero mi ha fatto tornare indietro ai tempi della prima superiore, con i pantaloni bragaloni e i vestiti oversized che andavano per la maggiore.
Un'uscita imperdibile per chi, in quegli anni, si è ascoltato anche la peggior merda cagata dal gruppo più sfigato e che vedeva in quel genere una valvola di sfogo con pesanti dosi di melodia. Va detto comunque che "Feel it" non è particolarmente originale, visto che ricorda moltissimo la band di Fred Durst, soprattutto il cantante Anu. Un lavoro molto vario, come più o meno tutti gli album crossover del periodo, nel quale il mix di rap, chitarroni groovosi e parti elettroniche (alle quali vengono dedicate anche intere canzoni, come ad esempio le due parti di "Bubbles") si fonde creando un suono molto compatto. Una natura rock che ha un ruolo fondamentale in tutto il disco, ma che lascia molto spazio nella parte finale, nella quale Dj dà il meglio del suo repertorio. A concludere il disco una cover stupenda di "Boom! Shake the room!", canzone di Will Smith quando spaccava ancora culi con il suo rap.
Un disco molto bello, una sorpresa in un panorama pieno di gruppi validi ma piatti. Certo, fosse uscito dieci anni fa un Ross Robinson a caso se li sarebbe presi e messi sotto la sua ala protettrice: avrebbero raccolto molto di più rispetto ad un'era attuale nella quale il metalcore e qualsiasi cosa vicina all'emo ha un ruolo da padrone. Ma, anche in un periodo nel quale la bolla del genere crossover/nu metal è esplosa da almeno un lustro, è sempre bello sentire gruppi del genere. Un prodotto di ottimo livello da ascoltare con il sorriso sulle labbra ricordando i tempi passati.

Molto energico questo disco dei Gzero che parte già a mille con "Das Critics" denotando lo stile artistico della band che possiamo inserire nel filone del classico nu-mutal dal cantato piuttosto rappato incrociato a vocalità pulite e altre manipolate in sala di missaggio. Le tracce presenti sono ben quattordici, tutte molto tirate, potenti, rocciose con le chitarre elettriche in grande evidenza e la sezione ritmica arcigna e incessante! Il suono è molto pulito (ottima registrazione) e l'intera incisione mostra sensazioni luminose e interpretazioni apprezzabili anche se come quasi tutti i progetti del genere nu-metal si finisce un pò inconsciamente per citare stilisticamente gruppi navigati (ad esempio mi viene in mente "Murphy's Law" con il suo incrocio tra Linkin' Park e Dog Eat Dog giusto per citare uno dei brani inclusi in questo "Feel it"). A ogni modo il disco è davvero molto orecchiabile, ben interpretato e cesellato il giusto per accontentare certamente il palato degli appassionati del genere.

Ecco che proprio quando si da per spacciato un genere, dall'underground arriva una band che lo ripropone fortemente.
In questo caso, come genere, si parla del cosiddetto crossover, termine affibbiato a quel tipo di band che mischiava un metal ritmico e melodico all'hip hop, come vari Limp Bizkit, P.O.D., Korn e via dicendo.
I GZERO sono un combo ben amalgamato e calibrato, loro sono indubbiamente dotati di un buon livello tecnico e compositivo anche perchè oltre a ricordare gruppi come Limp Bizkit, Cypress Hill e anche Beastie Boys in certi momenti corali, trovano spazio anche per inserire spunti funk ed elettronici. Ascoltando tracce come Murphy's Law e Bubbles Part II, si sente di tutto, chitarra a 7 corde, scratch inserti e tappeti di tastiera e effetti alla voce.
Ma proprio adesso, che anche i Linkin Park, band che ha fatto successo con quel tipo di crossover, iniziano a liberarsene e ad evolvere, sentire un gruppo così legato a un genere che sta svanendo, fa uno strano effetto.
Consigliati sicuramente a chi è amante del genere o comunque a chi vuole sentire un gruppo festaiolo e potente (vedi "Boom! Shake The Room!").
