"DJ SUGARBEAR" HOUSE MUSIC PRODUCER-REMIXER
WWW.DJSUGARBEAR.COM
Influences
My influences vary from people like Moby, Fatboy Slim, Tony B, Richard Vission, David Garcia, The Sweedish Eagle, Holly Adams, Daft Punk, M. Jackson, Tito Puente, Cal Jader, The Beatles, just to name a few, and of course all of the people that are very dope producers and Disc Jockies, and all the cool cats at 89.9 KCRW that keep playing the dope jams. I must say though that my number one musical influence would have to be my brother Danilo Lozano www.cubanflute.com when ever I listen to one of his tracks that he produces, I feel like re-mixing it and making a phat house track out of it, so maybe this year when IM done with mine, I will hit him up and see what he say's. lol.....
Peace!

DJ Sugarbear
A Producer/Remixer who was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA (East Los Angeles). He was constantly surrounded and influenced by music, which has always been a part of life for his family. He not only grew up to become a Latin Percussionist but also went on to be known as a D.J. / Producer Remixer specializing in dance music. He has furthered his education and career by completing certificate programs in Radio Production and Television Production/Operations at Pasadena City College (www.paccd.cc.ca.us). By incorporating his musical passion and his technological experience in the motion picture / television industry he has been able to get the best of both worlds and creatively express himself utilizing his personal studio.
His early musical influences came from his family. His mother, Nancy, was a vocalist in the beautiful island of Cuba, his brother Rolly, is a bass player and his niece Natalie, is a developing vocalist. His father, Rolando Lozano, is an important figure in Cuban Charanga music and Latin Jazz, as such he has recorded with many great musicians such as Cal T. Jader, Mongo Santa Maria, and Tito Puente. His brother Danilo Lozano (www.cubanflute.com), is a well-respected flute soloist who has made a reputation for himself in a wide variety of venues which include, but are not limited to, Classical, Latin Jazz, and Afro-Cuban music.
Jose began playing instruments at a very young age. Growing up in such an environment he naturally became a musician specializing in Latin Percussion. He was awarded and recognized in music and performing arts at Roosevelt High School. After experiencing various forms of music such as Classical, American Jazz, Latin Jazz, and Afro-Cuban he found another passion DJing.
His career of performing at various house parties expanded to being recruited to perform at some of the most popular nightclubs in Los Angeles, such as, Quiet Cannon in Montebello, Caddies in Alhambra (www.almansorcourt.com), Fantasia in Northridge, and Peppers in the City of Industry. He also regularly appears at the very popular Papas&Beer (www.papasandbeer.com) in Rosarito, Baja California Mexico where he spins live on specialized weekends, such as Memorial Day, Spring Break, 4th of July, Labor Day, and College Fest. He has also been featured in Industry Insider Magazine as a special guest D.J. at Papas&Beer. D.J. Sugarbear has also been featured on Power 106Kpwr (www.power106.fm/index.jhtml), on the Power Tools show, hosted by Richard Humpty Vission and Tony B. He was a radio board operator for Groove 103.1 (www.housemusic.net/GrooveRadio103.1) assisting Alex Tostados Groove It or Loose It show. Playing other peoples work was not enough for him. He wanted to make his own talents as a musician and D.J. available to the public and entertainment industry.
By combining his love of dance music and his passion for musical composition he has created a studio where he can combine his talents. In 1998 He produced a 12-inch single entitled Come Say Goodbye to My Love, by Jema, which was featured on Groove 103.1s Groove It Or Loose It show with a rating of 100% Groove It. His latest new single is callme "Latex Love" and will be out sooner than later in 2006. Using his audio editing and musical skills hes created music routines for Southern California drill and pep squad dance teams. He has also produced and composed music for Radio, TV, and Films.
