The Habitat ReStore, located at 434 3rd Street S in downtown La Crosse (the corner of 3rd and Cass), is a retail store that sells donated new and used building materials at discount prices. All the proceeds from the Habitat ReStore go directly to Habitat for Humanity - La Crosse Area to build more homes.

Q: When is the ReStore open?
A: Our store hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10:00am-6:00pm, and Saturday from 9:00am-3:00pm.
Q:What kinds of items does the Habitat ReStore carry?
A:The Habitat ReStore's stock changes daily! We carry cabinets and counter tops, doors, lumber, tools, furniture, flooring, hardware and much, much more! Visit our website for more information.
Q: Who can shop at the Habitat ReStore?
A: Anyone can shop at the Habitat ReStore! We are open to the public, and anyone and everyone is welcome to shop, donate, or volunteer!
Will the Habitat ReStore accept any donation?
A: The Habitat ReStore can only accept items that are in decent condition - items that can be resold and reused. We use our best discretion when deciding which items we can accept.
Q: What is the history of the ReStore?
A: The first ReStore was started in 1991 in Winnipeg. The first U.S. ReStore was started in 1992 in Austin, TX. Today, there are at least 500 Habitat ReStores across the United States and Canada. The La Crosse ReStore opened on October 21st of 2006.
Q: Will the Habitat ReStore accept returns?
A: No, except for appliances, which may be returned within seven business days, with a receipt for store credit.
Q: Will the Habitat ReStore hold merchandise for customers?
A: Items may be held for 24 hours (not including days the store is closed) with a deposit of 25% of the price of the item. If the customer does not return to pick up the item, the item will be resold and the customer will lose their deposit. If the item is paid for in full, the ReStore will hold the item for three business days. If the customer does not return for the item, we will resell it. If the customer comes back within a week (past the three day window to pick it up) and has their receipt, they can receive store credit.
Q: Are donations tax deductible?
A: Yes - the Habitat ReStore will provide a receipt for tax purposes.
Q: How are prices determined?
A: Items are priced at 50%-75% off retail prices, with additional adjustments made based on condition. Prices are non-negotiable.
