From Kurdistan in Northern Iraq, Sister Haero and her family moved to the United States when she was only 11-months old. Growing up in Southern California, Haero's leadership abilities came to the forefront when she was a student at San Diego State University. She became very active in the SDSU Muslim Student Union, Muslim Women of San Diego, as well as other non-profit organizations. During her senior year at SDSU, she was elected President of the MSU and was instrumental in coordinating many successful educational programs and events for the general community.
While Haero was a student at SDSU, she tapped into her interest in poetry writing. Haero discovered her passion for the art of poetry writing, rapping and freestyling, but she wanted to use her talent for more than mere entertainment. Haero decided to use her poetry to introduce Islam to the San Diego Community. She has been invited to make many public appearances to read her poems and perform her work. Haero's spoken word poetry and rhymes have helped promote a better understanding of the role of women in Islam. Her message has reached the young and old, Muslim and non-Muslim. She continues to dispel the myths about women in Islam through her poetry and community service.
After graduating from SDSU with a B.A. in Journalism, Haero has remained active in many community affairs. She has provided leadership for elementary and middle school age children at local community centers. She was one of the founders of the Imam Jamil Coalition, San Diego Chapter, which was started in April 2002. Haero has been the featured artist and speaker at many seminars, political events and hip hop venues this year, as well as many years in the past. Haero currently resides in Los Angeles and is in the process of recording an album, as well as work on other artistic projects.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
2: 10. In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease (34): And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false ( to themselves).
2: 11. When it is said to them: " Make not mischief on the earth," they say: " Why, we only Want to make peace!"
2: 12. Of a surety, they are the ones that make mischief, but they realise (it) not ( 35).
2: 13. When it is said to them: " Believe as the others believe: " They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know (36).
2: 14. When they meet those who believe ( 37), they say: " We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: " We are really with you: We(were) only jesting."
2: 15. Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wonder like blind ones (To and fro).
2: 16. These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,
2.: 17. Their similitude is that of a man (38) who kindled a fire; when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness. So they could not see.
2: 18. Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS MOST MERCIFUL
2:19 OR (ANOTHER SIMULTUDE)39 IS THAT OF A RAIN-LADEN CLOUD FROM THE SKY: WHEREIN IS DARKNESS, THUNDER, AND LIGHTNING. THEY THRUST THEIR FINGERS IN THEIR EARS TO KEEP OUT THE STUNNING THUNDER-CLAP FOR FEAR OF DEATH. BUT ALLAH EVER ENCOMPASSES THE DISBELIEVERS (I.E. ALLAH WILL GATHER THEM ALL TOGETHER).
2:20 THE LIGHTNING ALMOST SNATCHES AWAY THEIR SIGHT, WHENEVER IT FLASHES FOR THEM, THEY WALK THEREIN, AND WHEN DARKNESS COVERS THEM, THEY STAND STILL. AND IF ALLAH WILLED, HE COULD HAVE TAKEN AWAY THEIR HEARING AND THEIR SIGHT. CERTAINLY, ALLAH HAS POWER OVER ALL THINGS.
2:21 O MANKIND! WORSHIP YOUR LORD (ALLAH), WHO CREATED YOU AND THOSE WHO WERE BEFORE YOU SO THAT YOU MAY BECOME AL-MUTTAQUN (THE PIOUS).
2:22 WHO HAS MADE THE EARTH A RESTING PLACEFOR YOU, AND THE SKY AS A CANOPY, AND SENT DOWN WATER (RAIN) FROM THE SKY AND BROUGHT FORTH THEREWITH FRUITS AS A PROVISION FOR YOU. THEN DO NOT SET UP RIVALS TO ALLAH (IN WORSHIP) WHILE YOU KNOW (THAT HE ALONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BE WORSHIPPED).
2:23 AND IF YOU (ARAB PAGANS, JEWS, AND CHRISTIANS) ARE IN DOUBT CONCERNING THAT WHICH WE HAVE SENT DOWN ( I.E THE QUR'AN) TO OUR SLAVE ( MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) ) THEN BRING A SURAH (CHAPTER) OF THE LIKE THEREOF AND CALL YOUR WITNESSES ( SUPPORTERS AND HELPERS) BESIDES ALLAH, IF YOU ARE TRUTHFUL.
2:24 BUT IF YOU DO IT NOT, AND YOU CAN NEVER DO IT, THEN FEAR THE FIRE (HELL) WHOSE FUEL IS MEN AND STONES, PREPARED FOR THE DISBELIEVERS.
2:255 ALLAH. THERE IS NO GOD BUT HE,-THE LIVING, THE SELFSUBSISTING, ETERNAL 296. NO SLUMBER CAN SEIZE HIM NOR SLEEP. HIS ARE ALL THINGS IN THE HEAVENS AND ON EARTH. WHO IS THERE CAN INTERCEDE IN HIS PRESCENCE EXCEPT AS HE PERMITTETH? HE KNOWETH WHAT (APPEARETH TO HIS CREATURES AS) BEFORE OR AFTER OR BEHIND THEM 297. NOR SHALL THEY COMPASS AUGHT OF HIS KNOWLEDGE EXCEPT AS HE WILLETH.
