Hagen B started his career in world renown Tresor club (1994), the old one - of course. He soon became resident of that institution but was rather attracted to the (housy) Globus floor at ground level than the (technoid) torture chamber downstairs. He also played in clubs like the legendary E-Werk (Dubmission), performing alongside Joey Beltram, Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes, Mike Grant, Juan Atkins, or Trevor Rockcliff. In more modern times he rocked Bar25, 103, Cookies, Villa and the international side of the DJ-Easyjetset.
Hagen B. and "2nd Berlin Skool" - refers to the spirit of Berlin's early 90ies club years, i.e. its "1st Berlin Berlin skool". Back in the days, the difference between groovy, warm House and hard, minimalist Techno was not yet made into a credo. The better tracks and Berlin clubs juggled well between the two styles - and happily so.
"2nd Berlin Skool" is exactly that - but filtered through all the Minimal (with a capital 'M') and other fresh noises invented in club music in the 21. Century. It embraces and pushes forward today's recombinant culture yet stays true to its Berlin eclectic roots. Enthusiastically received so far in Brazil, N.Y., Paris, London, Stockholm and many other places on planet Earth.
