Abstract Rude Rejuvenation In-Stores: 05.05.09 Pre-Order: Fifth Element
As a product of the legendary Goodlife open mic sessions, Abstract Rude splashed onto the scene in 1994 as part of the famed Project Blowed crew that included LA’s Freestyle Fellowship and Aceyalone. As one half of the A-Team (with Aceyalone), one third of Haiku D’Etat (with Aceyalone & Myka 9) and frontman of his group Abstract Tribe Unique (ATU), Ab Rude has endeared himself to fans worldwide through consistent touring and genre defining albums such as 1999’s South Central Thynk Tank (currently out of print). Once signed to the Beastie Boys Grand Royal imprint, Ab has readied himself to re-emerge with Rhymesayers Entertainment and his most consistent and focused work to date, Rejuvenation. Produced entirely by Seattle super producer Vitamin D (G-Unit, Redman, Young Buck, Gift of Gab, Choklate, Lifesavas, Black Sheep, etc.), Rejuvenation is a hard hitting soulful ryde showcasing Ab Rude’s distinct and unlimited vocal styling.
Haiku d'etat is a rap group/side project comprised of 3 artists: Aceyalone & Myka 9 of the Freestyle Fellowship (FF) and Abstract Rude of Abstract Tribe Unique (ATU). The trio was 1st heard together on their '00 debut self titled release. Offering a jazzy, yet soulful mix of some live musical elements with the bold, socio-conscious lyrics came to define the meaning of the group's name: a poetry takeover.
Since the 1st album's release to critical acclaim, a new Haiku album entitled COUP DE THEATRE was released in October '04. That time around the triumvirate reunited as seasoned veterans with a more enlightened perspective on what they wanted to convey as a group. Realizing each others strengths they took their rightful roles on Coup De... to achieve an incredible blend of Myka the JAZZ, Acey the POET & Ab the SOUL. Late 2004 found Haiku teamed up with Hieroglyphics Posse & Zion I for the CaliComm Tour, which resulted in a Cali Comm 04 compilation lp/dvd.
Since 2005 each Haiku d'etat MC has been releasing or working on mixtapes and solo records (Ab Rude has finally finished his latest, REJUVENATION coming May 5th on Rhymesayers Ent.) All 3 members of Haiku d'etat have thriving solo careers which kept them busy through 2008 on tour and in the studio (Aceyalone & The Lonely Ones available now on itunes -and- Myka 9's1969 and Magic Heart Genies in stores now.)
Now it's 2009 and it's time to jump back in the van and come hang out with yall and perform for you in your home cities. The live sets will be a combination of new solo lp material + all the classic Haiku, FF & ATU music you know & love. May 5th, 2009 marks Ab Rude's release, and begins Haiku d'etat's 16 city Mike Aaron & Eddie Tour with DJ Drez and special guest/host Nocando. The tour kicks off @ Santa Cruz's The Catalyst and ends in LA @ The Airliner on May 22nd for Urban Underground. I heard it through the RudeVine that a Palm $prings pre-tour party show was Just Added...that info is in our show listings.
Cya out there!!!
Stay tuned for the leak of a new MA&E Tour Exclusive mix cd

Hey Fellas I hope that show went well for you all last night. Unfortunately I and I believe a lot of others didn't get a chance to enjoy it because the capacity level of the club was reached around 10:30 or so and we were left to stand in line with no chance of getting in I felt. I left the line around 11:30 and headed for home.I was glad to see so many peeps out to support good music but at the same time was not believing that the venue for such an anticipated show would be so small. Your music is inspiring to a lot of people and I believe one more show for the L.A. Family is needed. I guess what I'm trying to get at is What will it take to get an ENCORE SHOW at a larger venue, what can I do to help make that happen?
Please give it some thought I thank you for your time. peace
Thanks for the love, and adding me to your top friends! You guys are some of the FEW true artists out there still rocking it with real style! Keep up the great music. Peace. -Sam Seed
