Small town rockers with a big city sound, Hailey and Shawn are a rising talent on the local modern country music scene. With a wide range of cover songs as well as an array of originals, Hailey and Shawn are a duo to keep your eyes on.
In their short time together the duo have become regular favorites at The Hitchin’ Post in Harpursville. The duo recently recorded a 6 song EP at Newclear Studios and have been playing locally in support of its release most recently at the Harpursville Central School Homecoming, Endicott Performing Arts Center, Cyber Café West, and as hosts of KNOW Theatre’s open stage night as well as special guests at their fall open house. The duo also recently traveled to Nashville taking the stage at Tootsie’s, The Listening Room Café, and The Stage. Hailey and Shawn were also the winners of 98.1 The Hawk's Colgate Country Showdown Contest and got to perform in the New York State Competition at The State Fair. They also got the privilege of opening for John Michael Montgomery at the 2009 Spiedie Fest.
Both from the small town of Harpursville, Hailey and Shawn have been active in music all of their young lives. Hailey has been singing since she was a child and started writing songs at the age of 11. She picked up the guitar in 2007 and taught herself before teaming up with Shawn. Shawn, a guitarist since the age of 7, joined Hailey on the mic after beginning to work together as musicians in the summer of 2008. The duo began perfecting their skills at Johnson City’s “Rock Shop” program for young musicians and have been gigging ever since.
Young, talented, ambitious, and energetic, Hailey and Shawn are on their way to putting their mark on the local music scene. Don’t let their age fool you, Hailey and Shawn are names you’re going to be hearing a lot in the coming years.
