Bio
“What’s the name of that band?” was the question of the night. It was Halloween 2010, and Wes Andrews, Trey Baldwin, Josh Carples and Adam Davila had just finished their first performance of a new musical endeavor that encompassed elements of experimental, ambient, progressive noise rock. After performing that show with no band name, the members decided on Hail the Titans, and set a goal to write music that can be best described as “epic.” While the sound is new, especially when compared to each members’ other projects, it combines certain influences shared by the members such as the ambient aspect of Mogwai and the energy and progressive nature of The Mars Volta. At their third show, part of the second anniversary of the Radio Free Birmingham series at Bottletree, some even said the band had elements of Pelican. Comparisons aside, and no matter how you classify them, Hail the Titans puts on a show, allowing the dynamics of each orchestrated piece of music to tell its story. -
