According to the Internet sources Hair Peace Salon is considered to be one of the most celebrated brit-pop bands in Minsk clubs. Since 2007, the band has won several awards of rock-n-roll contests. Hair Peace Salon has recorded 5 CDs, one of them was released by West Records. The band’s current line-up is: Oleg Vyal (vocals, guitar), Konstantin Karman (vocals, keyboard), Maxim Devichenskiy (bass guitar), Artyr Luchkov (drums).
The first rehearsal was held in 1998 by Oleg Vial (guitar, vocals), Maxim Devichenskiy (bass guitar) and Sasha Vashchilo (drums). But still there was no band name. When the band members were visiting «poet-terrorist» Aleksander Yak, they found a crumpled piece of paper with the title of his poem written in English. They decided to choose the title as their band’s name.
The first performance of Hair Peace Salon took place at «Baza» club on February 22, 2002. The concert was dedicated to Curt Kobein’s birthday. This day may be considered as the band’s birthday too. The birth was fast and almost without blood – just four songs and a smashed-up hand of the drummer.
Later in that same year, the band experienced line-up changes. Artur Luchkov (drums) and Vadim Dubina (guitar) joined HPS. The band worked a lot and took part in the following music festivals: Puieridetta Musica in Narva, Estonia; Basovishcha 2005 in Grodak, Poland; Rock-Cola 2005 in Polotsk. There were released 2 discs: «Next Leve»l in 2004 and «Hover» in 2005. That was also the year when Vadim Dubina left Hair Peace Salon.
Four months later, after a desperate search and experiments the band found an up-and-coming guitarist Vadim Isaev. Thanks to his outstanding professional skills Hair Peace Salon reached higher levels of performance and became one of the best Minsk brit-pop bands. That’s why the songs of the band could be heard at different concerts and on the radio more and more often.
In autumn 2007 the musicians released EP Gipsy on a split CD «Split Before Together Now» with the band Jitters titled. Later on, in 2007, a keyboard player of Jitters joined Hair Peace Salon. That was their friend and idol, leader of Jitters Konstantin Karman. Not long before this Hair Peace Salon Konstantin decided to dismiss Jitters. After that he was completely absorbed in the music of Hair Peace Salon. Konstantin enriched the music with modernity and drive. But the most important thing is that acquired acquired the two-voice singing the band is known for.
Having a stronger line-up, the band reached the semifinal of TV project «Global Battle Of the Bands» in December of the same year. It also won the music contest «Zolotaya Akystika». In March the band took the second place at «Muzykalnyi Sparring» contest. Afterwards Anatoli Vecher directed the first music video of the band called «Hover».
But despite the success, during the recording of EP «In Tune» in spring 2008 Vadim Isaev left the band. Though it was a hard time the musicians did well in 2008 and released single «Stand The Rain» in summer and EP «In Tune» in autumn. In January the band took the second place at Belarusian-Swedish music contest «Bandscan:Belarus».
That is how the current line-up of Hair Peace Salon was formed and which is very friendly, purposeful and believes in its music and its dream.
