Cool...

Who I'd like to meet:

Most the people I ever wanted to meet are dead. It's weird like that. Art is like that for the really good ones, you gotta die before "they" recognize you. Who makes up these rules? Or you gotta be murdered or incarcerated for doing the good work, the righteous work. Some example of these people are the likes of Gotama Siddartha, Malcolm X, Various Black Panthers, Che Guevarra, Mohandas Gandhi, Jittu Krishnamurti, Black Elk, Alan Watts, Van Gogh, Rosa Parks, John Lennon, Thomas Paine, Saint Nikolaus, Frida Kahlo, Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley, Harundi Bakshi, to name a few.

People alive I'd like to meet are Jello Biafra, Slavoj Žižek, Amy Goodman, Mumia Abu Jamal, Jeff Koonz, Austin Powers, Yoko Ono, Bill Laswell, Fidel Castro, Nelson Mandela, Evo Morales, Hugo Chavez, Father Roy Bourgeouis, Blaze Bonpane, Santa Claus, Michael Moore, maybe even you. What question would I ask them? Perhaps the same question I'd ask you, "When did you know that this was your calling? Second question, "When did you discover you had not choice but to follow the call?" Passion is an unreasonable thing.

Interests

  • General

Art, politics, poetry, philosophical pursuits, the truth, the cosmic joke, self-sustainability, making some moolah, the environment, travel, the quest for truth the real truth, the pursuit of peace, ending poverty, socialism, dinner, what else is there? Why other social networks of course! If you have the courage to dive into bloody waters with the sharks, follow me on twitter, digg, and facebook too. Disclaimer: we did say bloody water with sharks. You've been warned.
  • Music

ska, reggae, dub, trance, electronica, jazz (straight ahead dad!), folk, protest songs, mom rock, psychedelic, classical, ecclectic, world music, old school punk, q'uali... and the beat goes on!
  • Movies

There are really too many to mention.
  • Television

Ah yes, television. Turn it on, get horizontal, fall asleep. Don't believe anything you hear or see on it. Lies, lies and more lies.
  • Books

I love books. Knowledge is power. The more I learn, the less I know. What really surprises me is how few people actually read or do any due diligence (research).
  • Heroes

People who are willing to stand up and be counted. I don't mean the obvious heroes. The ones you overlook daily. The ones who are willing to look the fool or get their asses kicked. The ones who sit back quietly and let others take the glory. The ones who aren't afraid to be wrong in light of actually learning something. The ones who understand that compassion is not warm and fuzzy by any means. These are the the real heroes.
