Forming during a time of increasing musical narrow-mindedness on the south shore of
Massachusetts, Half Hearted Hero began in the basements and garages of New Bedford in 2005.
Fighting for a chance to be heard while drowning in a sea of Hardcore and Metal, Half
Hearted Hero's first EP entitled Home, released in 2007, established the bands reputation as a
pop-punk powerhouse. With a positive attitude and a fun, yet thoughtful and introspective
sound and style, the band makes music they want to hear, keeping in mind that somewhere
there are kids just like them who are aching for the same thing. Influences such as The
Fullblast, Small Brown Bike, and The Starting Line come together in a surge of harmony and
ferocity as the band weaves interesting melody with driving beats and catchy choruses. Half
Hearted Hero's first full length album, Defining. Refining. is scheduled for an April
release on Fastlife Records in Japan as well as Set Sail Records and Farewell Party Records
in the U.S. With this release, Half Hearted Hero sets the bar for pop punk bands to come,
and creates a sound unique to themselves and the New Bedford area.

"Bringing their own New England style with some Midwestern emo & SoCal pop-punk influence, you'd be hard-pressed to dismiss Half Hearted Hero at all. Staying true to what their album title suggests, they're gathering up their influences and making something entirely their own."
-Absolutepunk.net
"Half Hearted Hero manages to avoid falling into the trap of being a run of the mill pop punk band. Instead they perform tight, catchy, edgy songs and they do this very well."
-Alter the Press!
"...Half Hearted Hero is truly a group of insanely talented musical visionaries."
