Streetwalking with Sukie, Windy City Times: "1/2 Mad Poet are a tough, hard rock band, and for the first three songs I was holding onto the table in front of me to stop myself from being blown out of the bar and onto the sidewalk"----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Local Grrl Band Dwells on the Wild Good, The Liberty Press: "This band breaks stereotypes and barriers into the realm of rock-n-roll by women. Self-classified as a mixture of funk, blues, metal, folk-alternative and punk, the sound leaves you at a loss for description."------------------------------------------Musical Schizophrenia: 1/2 Mad Poet, Wichita State University Sunflower: "In some songs, it's not unusual to be pulled from free-form jazz right into the frenzied feel of punk - similar to the twists and turns of a good suspense film."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"If Joan Jett and Ani DiFranco had a baby, 1/2 MAD POET is what you would get." - GoGirlsmusic.com ------------------------------------------------------------"A cross between 4 Non Blondes and Siouxsie and the Banshees" - fan --------"The vocals remind me of Ann Wilson of Heart" - Joanne Ledesma of Ledesma Music
½ Mad Poet is an entertainingly unpredictable rock trio that conveys a visible passion for music to every audience. This Chicago band comes from a variety of musical backgrounds and influences, but they share a powerful rock sensibility that keeps the energy level high throughout the show. The mixture of fervor and intensity they bring to every performance make for a compelling live act. ½ Mad Poet loves to play and have fun with everyone who comes to see them from the most dedicated fan to the curious first timer.
½ Mad Poet’s musical prowess and ability for diversity have allowed them to play venues ranging from parties and bars to local and national festival stages. Some of their larger shows have included Lilith Fair 1998 and performing with such acts as Joan Jett, Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Evil Beaver, Warrant and even Weird Al Yankovich. ½ Mad Poet has traveled to more than 11 states ranging from Minnesota to Texas bringing their distinctive sound to an ever growing legion of fans.
Despite their large array of influences, ½ Mad Poet still retains a tight-knit musical cohesiveness that captivates the listener. The serious commitment of this professional band to their art is reflected in the name of the band itself: ½ Mad Poet’s name came from the idea of the passionate (i.e. mad) artist tempered by rationality; as heard by their ardent enthusiasm for music and thought provoking lyrics. This is a “need to see live” band who always go all out to put on an exciting concert that will cause even the drunkest crowd member to wake up the next day with a smile on their face.

Words of wisdom from Bones
“Slow down”
“Man, one thing I have learned that’s really changed my life is APPRECIATION OF THIS ALL. Life can seem so short for some people, usually to people that don’t go through trials, people that don’t really go out of there way to make a difference, people that just go to work everyday come home watch TV. Nothing ever changes. In actuality human life can be very, very long. Humans live longer than just about any other form of life we know except coral reefs and trees, so if you’re in a rut I'm betting it's not the first and probably won't be the last. Gods taken you this far, have a little faith, tighten up, suck it up, and get back into the game... I have friends that are self-made millionaiers but still haven’t figured out this one yet. So if you ever feel like you’re the only one, you’re not alone. We’re all on the same boat, and man what a ride! LIFE IS DYNAMIC, BEAUTIFUL and at times seemingly tragic but definitely amazing and wonderful, even at some of its worst moments."
Jesus said if you truly believe that mountain will move then it will move
It’s all about faith, let the games begin.
Hey what’s up 1/2 Mad Poet I always dig checking out your space, very cool people.
Words of wisdom "If defeat wasn’t so painful then victory wouldn’t feel so glorious. Time has given us two gifts, the power to heal all defeats and as if giving us another gift preserves all victories. Life is dynamic, beautiful, shocking and at times seemingly tragic but also defiantly wonderful! So pay attention, enjoy what you can and don't blink baby you might miss something.
Explore it and you will see --- it is, a wonderful life"
God bless.
