Music
...that's felt pain. Music that's felt joy. Music that means something.
Every Monday evening at the Halfmoon Putney, 93 Lower Richmond Road, London SW15. From 8pm. Still only £2.50.
"HALFMOON UNPLUGGED" is the third generation of a tradition of Monday night acoustic sessions which have taken place at London's famous music venue, the Halfmoon Putney, on and off since the early 60's.
Every Monday night is a chance to see only the very best emerging singer-songwriters and unplugged bands from across the UK and the globe. It is the quality of music, laid back atmosphere of this historic venue, and an audience that are there purely to enjoy excellent new music that make Halfmoon Unplugged stand out from other acoustic events as one of the worlds best.
Here is where people come to listen.
The format of the night is 7 artists/bands playing three song sets between 815pm and 1030pm, then a headline artist/band will play between 30 and 40 minutes to finish the night.
The Halfmoon Unplugged rule for bands is no drumsticks or distortion guitar, apart from that pretty much anything goes. Drummers are allowed on the condition that they use 'hot rods' or brushes.
Who I'd like to meet: If you would like to perform at Halfmoon Unpluggged please read the following information.
Firstly, ask yourself these questions:
1) Do you have a Myspace page or website with MUSIC, photos and a LIST OF FUTURE GIG DATES?
2) Think about your music for a moment. Think about the music around you. Think about your favourite band/ artist. Honestly, is your music really good enough to get signed by a record label or publisher?
3) Has anyone you don't know come up to you at a gig and asked if you have a CD?
If you answered YES to ALL of these questions then read on. If you didn't then perhaps now is just not yet the time but remember the door is never completely closed, opening it is down to you and the quality of your music, not us people in the industry.

Just wanted to thank you again for letting my play last Monday, had a great time and you've got a great venue too. The sound was awesome and you really managed to get a great bunch of people to play the evening as well, nice one!
Thanks for having us at the Half Moon last week! Really enjoyed the night...it's such a great set up...we're already spreading the word! Hope to be back some point!
Cheers Redvers - thanks again for last night, we had a great time (really enjoyed yours and Mala's set too). Will give you a call sometime soon then to sort out another gig later in the spring!

Was walking home from the pub one evening and in my fuzzy daze looked up at the windows high on the peer's apartments down richmond road. Saw myself a woman in her eloquent forties naked looking at herself in the mirror. Rushed at my luck I looked down to see if my feet were still on the ground, and whe I looked up again she had pulled the curtain.
I was always having those kinds of nights at the Halfmoon. Back in town August 2008.
we are currently at number 5 in the ourstage americana charts with our track 'she sees something in him' and its getting close at the top so i would really appreciate your votes/plays. If you have a spare minute just click on the link below or on our profile... thanks!
Hey Red, how's it going? Amazing thing. Went to bed last night as normal as Nantucket. Woke up this morning and found an all singing utterly swinging facsimile of myself in performance on Myspace profile(www.myspace.com/seantaylorsongs). If only for the dancing diamondback chorus, it's definitely worth a look and a listen. Peace
Thanks again for an awesome night at the halfmoon Redvers. I thought all the acts were brilliant and very diverse. Really enjoyed watching the others and of course playing! Hope you will have me back at some point! All the best and see you soon,
Tam
