Icelandic sensation Kat and her band “The Half Step Uncles” are due to be making a big splash in 09 on the London Music scene. With members that have gigged around the UK, Iceland and the USA, they are currently in the studio recording the highly anticipated debut EP.
A mixture of Raw, powerful emotion, Kat’s voice will cut through your resolve and pull you into a song whether you are a fan or not, get ready to become one!
The band includes Drummer Ed Broad, Guitarist Nathaniel Albert, Guitarist Jonas Eli, Bass Player Matthew Cvijan, Katherine Dawes and Tara Robinson on BV's and last but not least Kat herself.
The songs are lyrically and emotionally deep. “Was it I?” has a throwback feel, powerful rock vocals and the lyrics take you to a real deep place. Reminisent of Alannah Myles and Black Velvet but with a 09 twist and Kat’s one off personality all up and through.
“Soulfood” is a touching story about a journey homeward bound, “What if” is a classic girl meets guy, girl likes guy, guy likes girl, girl thinks ‘oh shit’ kinda story, Very relatable!
“Why’d you lie” is THE singalong anthem for any girl who’s ever loved and lost - a no good man, its got a independent woman with a dose of fiesty rock chick flavor that tastes gooood to the ear!
