As a well-respected player versed in rock, pop, standards, blues, R&B, funk, Motown and metal, bassist/vocalist Doug Odell has made his bones in countless original and cover bands. The veteran lefty 4- & 5-stringer has a rep as a first-call recording session and live musician-for-hire on projects as varied as musical comedy, full-band backed hip-hop, folk and acoustic pop.
Doug got his first exposure to music at a very young age, working in the family business. This particular musical mafia found its niche in the highly specialized trade of manufacturing and maintaining pipe organs -- where Odell quickly found himself holding keys and tuning pipes with his father. Pounding out rock music on these massive instruments inspired Doug to study piano with private teachers. Fate would ultimately lead Odell to pursue his passion and true calling; BASS. Instruction with private teachers soon followed. While Doug focused on developing his electric bass chops, professional voice lessons honed his soaring tenor.
Doug Odell can be booked for live performances, as well as both on-site and virtual recording session work.
