Salvation is the forgiveness of sins as a gift from God's son, Jesus Christ, who has paid the price for the sins of the world. Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven can be certain by following these steps:
1. Admit to God that you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
2. Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior of the world and your Savior.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
3. Confess your sins to Jesus Christ and ask for his forgiveness.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

HUMAN WORTH AND DIVINE DESTINY - Fallen though he be, man is still deemed by the Almighty to be of inestimable worth. Though incapable of saving himself, man-as creature-represents God's highest and best, made in His image and intended for His glory. In the light of Christ's will to spend His own life for man's redemption, an eternal insight into the worth of man from God's viewpoint is gained (1 Pet. 1:18-19). LOVE - the high esteem which God has for His human children and the high regard which we, in turn, should have for Him and other people. Because of the hundreds of references to love in the Bible, it is certainly the most remarkable book of love in the world. It records the greatest love story ever written--God's unconditional love for us that sent His Son to die on the Cross (John 3:16; 1 John 4:10). Love is not only one of God's attributes; it is also an essential part of His nature. "God is love," the Bible declares (1 John 4:8,16)--the personification of perfect love. Such love surpasses our powers of understanding (Eph. 3:19). Love like this is everlasting (Jer. 31:3), free (Hos. 14:4), sacrificial (John 3:16). Love is like oil to the wheels of obedience. It enables us to run the way of God's commandments (Ps. 119:32). Without such love, we are as nothing (1 Cor. 13:3). Such Spirit-inspired love never fails (1 Cor. 13:8) but always flourishes. MUSIC - vocal or instrumental sounds with rhythm, melody, and harmony. Music was part of everyday life for the ancient Hebrew people. Music was a part of family merrymaking, such as the homecoming party for the prodigal son (Luke 15:25). Music welcomed heroes and celebrated victories. Miriam and other women sang, danced, and played timbrels when the Israelites miraculously escaped the Egyptians (Ex. 15:20), and the Song of Moses in Exodus 15 is the earliest recorded song in the Bible. Jephthah's daughter greeted him with timbrels to celebrate his victory over the Ammonites (Judg. 11:34). David's triumph brought music (1 Sam. 18:6) These are just a small sample of the many references to music in the Bible. Our greatest clue to music lies in the Book of Psalms, the earliest existing hymnbook. As hymns, these individual psalms were used and are still used to worship our Lord! David Plotkin's son Max was diagnosed with a rare form of B-Cell Lymphoma in May of 2007. To cope with his son's illness, David began writing songs. The result is his touching and heartfelt album, The Journey, released in early 2009. The Bible is the greatest love story ever written. Correct Bible study interpretation should answer the question, "How do I understand what this particular passage means?" Because there are rules which govern its use, it is a science. Because knowing the rules is not enough, it also is an art. Because the Bible is not a mere human resource, it is a spiritual practice. This practice needs to be applied to learn how to use the rules of Bible study and interpretation.
The question of how to interpret the Bible is not a minor issue. If Satan has a list of what he does not want us to do, Bible study is at the top, along with prayer and worship. Through study of Scripture we learn who Jesus is and are enabled to become like Him. How can we become like Him, if we do not know what He is like? Devotional studies are important, but they must result from a serious study of Scripture. The apostle Paul prayed that the Colossians might be "filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Col. 1:9).
Knowing Scripture and obeying it are the twin foundations of a godly life. A Holy Spirit-filled life produces the further desire to study God's Word. Bible study and the application of its meaning, therefore, takes us from study to application, back to study, and on to further application, in a mounting spiral toward God in devotion and toward mankind in service and witness, Satan's attempt to take away our desire to study Scripture is nothing less than an attempt to remove the basis of our spiritual growth and stability.
