For privacy purposes, details of the events surrounding the Holly House contained in this profile and other High Noon Records profiles and related recordings have been changed. These include, but are not limited to, names, dates, and locations. We did feel the need, however, to keep the Holly name, as we find the name “Holly House” simply unnerving.
In October of 1986 in Granger, Iowa, a small, vacant, turn-of-the-century house burned to the ground. Locally known as the Holly House, it was said to be haunted and follow a gruesome history. It was frequented by generations of thrill-seekers in their youth, and its legend grew over time. The fire was deemed an act of vandalism.
In April of 2007, PCIU, a private paranormal research outfit began investigating the site based on its rumored past. Buried underneath the cellar stairs they found a small collection of audio tape reels, some destroyed, but some only slightly damaged. High Noon Records was contacted to inquire about restoring the tapes and deciphering their content.
This profile is dedicated to all projects that have and will utilize the audio from these tapes and currently features ten tracks from Halloween at High Noon: Atmosfear and the Holly House Sessions. Remain calm.
Just when you though it was safe to put the headphones back on, the witching hour cometh. High Noon Records returns once again with a new, blood chilling installment of Halloween at High Noon. The Witching Hour is loaded with spooks and takes a more electronic approach to fright. The same players return with some taking on new roles to bring you the most polished Halloween at High Noon to date.
Back from the dead and back in your head, High Noon Records proudly presents the long-awaited and highly anticipated Halloween at High Noon: Return of the Creeps, volume 3 of the acclaimed Halloween series.
Return of the Creeps has been dubbed the most powerful Halloween at High Noon installment to date and once again features all of your High Noon favorites: The Divine Sham, Phantom 309, Buck James & the Bullwhips and the rest. Creeps, however, also introduces a handful of hybrid bands/projects, consisting of co-mingling elements from the High Noon line up as well as select artists' origins.
High Noon Records is very excited to present a Halloween at High Noon release unlike any other. Halloween at High Noon: Atmosfear is 19 tracks of pure terror as only Dead End Ranch could offer. Whether used as a backdrop for your haunted house attraction or Halloween celebration, as a twisted fear experiment with headphones in your basement or in conjunction with the other Halloween at High Noon releases for a truly fulfilling Halloween experience, or even simply as a means to scare the little zombies off of your front porch on All Hallow’s Eve; Atmosfear contains 70 minutes of absolutely terrifying audio.
A tour through the legendary Holly House, Atmosfear contains audio from the tapes salvaged from that cursed site. It was frightening to put together, and we have no doubt that it will be even more frightening to listen to. Proceed with extreme caution – this is the most terrifying movie you will ever hear.
Tracks from Atmosfear are featured on the Halloween at High Noon: Holly House and Dead End Ranch profiles.
DEAD BEATS & HEAD TREATS (9/2007)
Volume 2 of the well-received and rave-reviewed Halloween at High Noon compilation series. Halloween at High Noon stalwarts, The Divine Sham, Phantom 309, Buck James & the Bullwhips, Base Burners and others return for another night of fright. Featuring newcomer, the John Dauber Trio, Dead Beats & Head Treats takes a slightly more atmospheric turn while taking the terror up to tantamount heights. Beware.
Tracks from Dead Beats & Head Treats are now featured on the Halloween at High Noon: Skeletons profile.
The one that started it all, featuring 17 tracks by 9 High Noon Artists, including The Divine Sham, Phantom 309, Buck James & the Bullwhips, Base Burners and others: an underground classic that received rave reviews and welcomed a terrified fan base howling for more.
Tracks from Hallowen at High Noon are now featured on the Halloween at High Noon: Skeletons profile.
The Halloween at High Noon phenomenon began in 2006 with the original release, receiving enthusiastic reviews and welcoming an enormous fan base demanding more. High Noon Records, ready to supply that demand, continued Halloween at High Noon into 2007 and now 2008 and beyond.
High Noon Records currently features 20 bands/projects/artists, all of which are involved with the Halloween at High Noon projects. Each brings its own brand of fright, making for a wickedly unique listening experience: Electro/Western/Dub/Rockabilly/Surf/Swamp Hop just to name a few.
Artists will be added as Halloween at High Noon grows. The series will continue with future releases, including those of the even more conceptual kind, all promising to chill you to the core. Listening alone, as always, is ill advised.
