Bandmitglieder: Bandleader Mark Kovnatskiy ist trotz seiner jungen Jahre schon ein vielgereister und hochbeachteter Violinist, zudem auch Komponist und Experte für jiddische Tänze. Er spielte und unterrichtete beim Ashkenaz Festival Toronto (CAN), KlezKanada Montreal (CAN), KlezFest London, Kiev und St.-Petersburg (UK, UA, RUS), Festival Jüdischer Kultur Kraków (PL), Musica Viva Veruela (ES), Folk Festival Ottawa (CAN), Nine Gates Praha (CZ), Sheshory Festival (UA), Jiddischfest Moskau (RUS), Limmud (LI) usw.. Mark spielte neben seinen eigenen Projekten mit der Merlin Shepherd Kapelye (UK/GUS), der Allstars Klezmer Band und Aaron Alexander’s Midrash Mish Mosh (USA) und unterrichtete jiddische Musik und jiddischen Tanz in verschiedenen Ländern. Sie trat zusammen mit verschiedenen Musikprojekten in Deutschland, Österreich, Brasilien, Russland, Ukraine, Frankreich, Italien, und in der Schweiz auf. Musikalisch ist sie überwiegend im Bereich Worldmusic und Jazz unterwegs und bringt die besondere Note in die msuikalische Vilefalt der Band vor allem durch Ihre Vorliebe für brasilianische Folklore. Sie ist außerdem als Songwriterin tätig und spielt Gitarre, Pandeiro und Cajon. Im Jahre 2002 absolvierte er die Musikhochschule in Omsk zog im Jahre 2002 nach Deutschland, wo er seitdem in verschiedenen Projekten als Akkordeonspieler und Pianist spielte. Er ist ein besonders offener Musiker mit grosser Vorliebe für balkanische Musik, sein Herz schlägt neben Klezmer besonders auch für Jazz, Forro, Samba und Tango. Mischa ist ein einmaliger Künstler, der die Musik nicht nur einem Instrument, sondern auch seinem Körper entlocken kann. Er spielt Melodien mit seinen Handflächen - eine einmalige in der Welt Fähigkeit. Mikhail hat die Musikhochschule in Bryansk absolviert. Er spielt Tuba, Posaune, Bariton und Tenor. Seit 1997 lebt er In Deutschland. Er spielte mit “Schräg”, “Men in Blech“, „Tätärä“, „Kedem“, und hatte Solokonzerte in Europa Russland, Ukraine usw. Die Hamburg Klezmer Band ist ein junges und virtuoses Ensemble. Die Musiker haben ihre jüdischen Wurzeln größtenteils in den Ländern der ehemaligen Sowjetunion. Das Ensemble besteht aus fünf musikalisch versierten Profis, die weltweit in verschiedensten Projekten tätig sind, und die ihre Liebe zu jiddischer Musik und anderen osteuropäischen Kulturen vereint. So spielt die Hamburg Klezmer Band ein äußerst vielseitiges und abwechslungsreiches Programm jüdischer, moldawischer, ukrainischer und rumänischer Musik, tief verwurzelt und hochvirtuos, mit viel Seele und ungebremster Tanzwut. Die Band spielt einerseits autentisch und traditionsgetreu, andererseits werden gerne neue Wege eingeschlagen und gelegentliche Ausflüge zu anderen Genres und Kulturen unternommen. Dies macht die musikallische Darbietung der Band spannend und unverwechselbar - eine grossartige Mischung aus Tradition und Moderne. Seit Anfang 2009 spielt auch der international gefeierte Klezmerklarinettist Christian Dawid aus Berlin mit der Band.
