The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. Morrison's cryptic lyrics and unpredictable behavior were the subject of controversy. After Morrison's death on July 3, 1971, the remaining members continued as a threesome until disbanding in 1973.
To fans of the Doors, the music included socially and politically charged lyrics mostly written by Jim Morrison. The jazz drumming of John Densmore, the swirling keyboards of Ray Manzarek, whose left hand played the parts typically associated with bass guitar, and Robbie Krieger's guitar playing, which showed the influence of flamenco, Indian, the blues and classical music, combined to form a distinctive sound.

THE DOORS waren zweifellos eine der innovativsten und zugleich radikalsten Bands der 60er. Die BACKDOORS lassen den Geist dieser Musik wiederauferstehen. Frontmann Peter Haertl-Lachmann liefert eine charismatische und ueberzeugende Buehnenperformance ab, die dem Vorbild Jim Morrison wuerdig ist. Unaufdringlich und praezise wie ein Uhrwerk breitet die Band dazu den typischen Doors-Sound aus: magisch, mystisch und mit bestaendigem Groove. Ausverkaufte Backdoors-Konzerte sprechen für die Klasse der Band.
Most of us never had the chance to experience a live concert of THE DOORS with charismatic Jim Morrison. We can make up for this, at least a little. Without doubt, THE DOORS were one of the most innovative and radical bands of the Sixties. THE BACKDOORS bring back the spirit of this music. Frontman Peter Haertl-Lachmann presents a charismatic and convincing stage performance which is worthy for Jim Morrison. Unobstrusively and precisely like clockwork the band presents the typical Doors sound: magic, mystic and with continuous groove.
