HAMMER - A hammer is a tool meant to deliver blows to an object. The most common uses are for driving nails, fitting parts, and breaking up objects. Hammers are often designed for a specific purpose, and so their design varies quite a lot. Usual features are a handle and a head, with most of the weight in the head. The basic design is hand-operated, but there are also many mechanically operated models for heavier uses.
The hammer is a basic tool of many professions, and can also be used as a weapon. Either way, it is perhaps the oldest human tool, perhaps even older than the earliest Homo species.
By analogy, the name hammer has also been used for many mechanical parts and devices that are designed to deliver blows, e.g. in the caplock mechanism of firearms
HORROR - Horror is the feeling of revulsion that usually occurs after something frightening is seen, heard, or otherwise experienced. It is the feeling one gets after coming to an awful realization or experiencing a hideous revelation. (Terror by contrast is usually described as the feeling of dread and anticipation that precedes the horrifying experience). Horror has also been defined as a combination of terror and revulsion. The distinction between terror and horror was first characterised by the Gothic horror writer Anne Radcliffe [1]. According to Devendra Varma in The Gothic Flame (1966):
The difference between Terror and Horror is the difference between awful apprehension and sickening realization: between the smell of death and stumbling against a corpse. [2]
Horror is also a genre of film and fiction that relies on horrifying images or situations to tell stories and prompt reactions in their audiences. In these films the moment of horrifying revelation is usually preceded by a terrifying build up, often using the medium of scary music.

Theatrical Artist, 'Michael Kolar', created this color pencil rendering depicting, 'a tale of horror and witchcraft', in the tradition of the theater, 'Du Grand Guignol', (The Gron - Geen - Yole). This remarkable tale or horror and witchcraft features the 'mystery' of the failed 'hoax' of religious piety and its supposed 'divine authority' - During the witch trials or the 'witchcraze' of - Europe, in the late 1500's. The folklore of the theater, 'Du Grand Guignol', as a form of entertainment is a theater of horror, terror, and gore. That addicted Parisian theater goers for countless generations, it became the progenitor of all of the 'splatter' movies of today, i.e., Halloween ; Friday The 13th ; A Nightmare On Elm Street ; Scream ; Prom Night and Hellraiser ! The 'Grand Guignol', has theatrically influenced 'shock - rock - masters of the past, such as ; W.A.S.P. , KISS & Alice Cooper. Which have left an 'indelible' mark on, Artist 'Michael Kolar'. So much so that he 'immortalized' this Parisian shock theater in this piece entitled ; "KOLAR'S HORROR ROCK ~ PRESENTS ; THE GRANDE GUIGNOL" copyright 2002.
Yes, Happy Birthday, Peter. And tomorrow, Christopher Lee shares a birthday with our Dear Vincent. However, I decided to honor both Peter and Christopher today, for Vincent deserves ALL the attention tomorrow...well, in my opinion anyway. =)
