HAMPUS DRAKE BIOGRAPHY:
Producer, DJ and remixer. There’s a lot of things going on for Hampus Drake,a 25 year old Stockholm native. “I have always had music around me,
ever since I was a kid” says Hampus.
“I started off playing i different kinds of soft rock bands very very far from what iam doing today, I belive every thing has its own way and purpose in
life thats why iam 100% foucused on quality tracks right now” Hampus says.
Hampus Drake moved to NYC in 2004 studying music by day, and spent most of the nights studying the warehouse party culture of New
York City. He spent a total of two years in New York, spending most of his money on records and discovering a new way of life.
“ For me moving to New York is one of the most important decisions i made in life, I wanted to make music and had all the ideas for it but what i
dident have was the sub culture and that iam blessing New York for giving me, To discover Larry Levan and realise that the industry is not all about
money, Its about making people happy and have a very good time when iam playing”
When he got back to Stockholm he started his record label Norrsken Digitale, where he will focusing on releasing re-edit on limited runs of 12” re-
cords and – obviously – on digital and vinyl.
The first release is two really nice re-edits of classic tracks by X-Ray Connection (“Get Ready”) and Patrick Cowley (“Megatron man”).
These have already been supported by Bottin (Italian Do It Better, Eskimo), Tomas Barfod (Who Made Who/TomBoy) and Serge Santiago to name a few.
Hampus Drake and Serge Santiago has also made a huge respectfull edit on “Move in The Light” by Jackpot that will ahve a future release on Norr
sken in 2009.
