From Hanalei's conception (November 2002) through November of 2004 all songs were written and played soley by Brian Moss. From December of 2004 through December 2006 Hanalei consisted of Brian Moss: guitars & vocals, Pete Tscoukas: guitars, Jason Kyrouac/Nick Kraska: drums, & Pete Croke: bass. In 2007, following Brian's move back to Oakland and then San Francisco, CA, things went back to solo form. Sometimes, there's a laptop involved. The computer wishes to remain nameless. Lately, Brian's bedroom, living room and internal laptop microphone have taken on a personality all their own.

it's been too long. the newer recordings are really flippin good. i'm starting a loud, noisy band right now. you'll have to hear it when there's something to hear.
I'm a wee bit drunk.. but anyways... You, James Mercer, and Issac Brock have wrote some of the world's best lyrics. Only you for some reason have gone almost unnoticed. I'm guessin one of your songs will get used in a movie some day and you'll make it big, well at least somewhat big.... I just wanted to be one of the first to tell ya.
I met you in a dream the other night. I had arrived at some sort of headquarters for the band, an office in the back corridors of a modernized church. You denied your identity, and I humored you by talking of "Brian Moss" as though he were some third party outside of the conversation I was engaged in. Unfortunately, only a minute or two in, I awoke. Sad that I could not pick your brain, I instead readied myself for work, listening to "Parts and Accessories" all the while.
